You can take me hot to go
The last day of Comic Con International. Oh my goddess! We were so tired. The perils of an aging millennial. My friends and I dragged our corpses to the lobby to hail the next Uber to the convention. From the Residence Inn to the Convention Center cost a mere $8 to shuttle the few of us ready for another day at San Diego Comic Con.
Sunday was a light day. This was the day to make any final purchases and take any last photo ops in the dealers hall. I felt satiated with all the new books I was going to take home. I had two priorities for Sunday – the fan Arcane panel and the League of Legends cosplay meet up. The Arcane panel was not hosted by Riot or Studio Fortiche, but it was a fan panel that focused on the science of the Netflix series’ themes. We had a panel of Arcane fans who worked in the STEM fields discussed how ethics, politics, etc plays into innovation and technology as presented in the series. While the League of Legends community is often regarded as cesspool of toxic gamers, this was a very intellectual discussion that held a full room of curious minds.
I attended the League of Legends cosplay meet up afterwards. It was a small meet up on the mezzanine level. I showed up as Star Guardian Ahri. We mainly had Vi’s, a few Jinxes, and the lone poro. It was an intimate meet up. I gave out League of Legends themed friendship bracelets to show we’re not all toxic gamers (and I needed an excuse to share a little bit of my culture to other fandoms!)
The crowds were dying down. People were clamoring towards the shuttle buses. Cars were headed towards the I-5 North back to reality. Stan and I journeyed up the freeway back to the real OC. Our brains were fried, and we could sure use a steak!
