Emerald City Comic Con 2025 took place on March 6 – 9, 2025 at the Seattle Convention Center in downtown Seattle, WA. The four day pop culture festival drew in folks from across the country hoping to get a glance at their A-tier celebrity roster of guests – the cast of Baldur’s Gate 3, cast of Firefly, John Boyega, Bruce Campbell, cast of Hannibal, cast of Starship Troopers, cast of Dragonball, and more.
I had heard about Emerald City Comic Con at the time I was reading X-Men comics in the 2010’s. There was a podcast that I used to listen to that was based in Seattle and they would always talk highly about ECCC. This convention was always on my list to attend. While I may have changed fandoms in the past decade or so, friends who have attended ECCC have also praised their presence of authors and book fandom at the convention. Given that this convention took place two weeks before my book’s release date, my priority was to network, present, and explore a new convention to add to Scarlet Rhapsody’s ever growing archive of convention reports. (Congrats, ECCC! You’re now part of the longest running website documenting convention history!)
Theme is tribute to The Tortured Poets Department given that I dressed up like Taylor Swift (with amazing reception!) and I’m at the start of my (tortured) writer era.
