My annual pass has less than a month before it expires. I decided to brave the 104+ degree weather to visit my happy place.
The Disneybound
This is technically a rulebreaker, but this was something I wanted to do for years now. Even when I was going to Mickey’s Halloween Party, I’ve always wanted to go as Johtaro Kujo, one of my all time favorite anime characters. Because my partner cosplays as Johtaro, I had some odds and ends that I could use. The blouse is from Rockin’ Bettie Las Vegas, the skirt is from my high school uniform, the jacket is my partner’s, the hat is from H&M, and the belts are from my partner’s cosplay and handpainted by me.
Do You Even Pose? And Other Photos
“Jojo posing” has been a thing of the anime cosplay and convention scene for the past 10 years or so. Since Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures has had a resurgence in fandom (and will be premiering on Toonami in mid-October), it’s a fandom tradition within the Jojo fandom to pose like the characters. Google it up, things get crazy.
Obligatory castle shot.
Technically, there’s no single rider line here, but when they found out I was, they let me ahead in line to the next available Dumbo.
I see no problem with this version of Maui. What’s the big fuss about? I mean, the bamboo stick is kinda strategically placed. I mean, if people want to dress up as Maui and as long as they’re not harming anyone…
Also, DO YOU SMELL WHAT MAUI IS COOKING? (spoiler: Dolewhip)
You could barely see my face here. Since Disney coded all photos for the photo day pass, it makes taking photos of the photo a little tougher.
By the EP Ripley – I can tell the differences between trains now!
Posing with the Shadow Man.
And posing with Princess Tiana
I don’t usually go to the Golden Horseshoe for food, but because it was 100+, better to be indoors. I had no idea that the stage was still being used for performers. I went in here because I remember they had root beer floats, but it looks like it was off the menu. I ended up with a soda and salad.
I assume that this is the Pearly Band on the carousel? This something you don’t see everyday. While I was waiting in line, they were playing “Spoonful of Sugar” on the carousel. Quite entertaining.
Toontown – aka the ghetto where toons live because of that one time.
Somewhat reenacting the first episode of Stardust Crusaders when Abdul and Grandpa Joseph visits Johtaro in the jail cell, but less bullet to the head.
It’s a small ZA WARUDO! Next rulebreaker bound: Stardust Crusaders Dio. Hey Pinup Girl Clothing, I hear you have a Villains Day in mind…
Could not resist Jojo posing on ride photos.
The closes thing that I can get to the Egyptian desert. Well, at least Cars is there. Grandpa Joseph and Great Grandma Lisa Lisa had a scores to settle with him…
Obligatory, I Will Miss You Tower of Terror photos.
Minnie Mouse trying to Jojo pose with me. You’d probably make a better Susie Q in her better days.
Obligatory I Survived the Teacups
