Anime Expo 2024 took place from July 4-7, 2024 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, JW Marriott, and the street of LA. The premiere anime convention has a funky history with locals who have been attending anime conventions. Fans are turned off from the crowds in South Hall that pop up on social media during this time of year.
Believe me when I say, it was still easier to get tickets to the Eras Tour over Anime Expo 2024. Due to a series of miscommunication from programming (tea on that later), rejection from industry despite my credentials, and seeing my friends lose their staff positions despite running successful night time events, I was not too enthused about Anime Expo 2024.
However, I was given an opportunity to moderate the Saint Seiya and Masami Kuromada panels at Anime Expo. I did not know I was attending as a panelist moderator until the week of the convention, meaning, I had zero time to figure out what guests I wanted to see. I had more time to prep for the smaller, mall convention, Weeb Fest, a week earlier!
However, I came out of Anime Expo 2024 with an “Okay…that wasn’t too bad!”
