[ClassyCats] Public Garden Picnic

This was my first time attending an event by the Greater Boston Vintage Society. I had heard about the event only a few days prior with little to prepare. I did not have anything that would be appropriate for a lawn party from the roaring 20s. However, I did have a sailor style dress that would work. Like any new person at a meet up, I’ll admit that I was shy, but I was quite surprised how friendly people were. People had picnic blankets set up in the Boston Public Gardens along with scones and tarts to share. I was really impressed by the community feel. Though I felt my sailor dress felt too “lolita” for the lawn party, it was well complimented. The event’s highlights consisted of croquet, snacking, charleston-ing, and a ride on the swan boats (that’s finally off my bucket list of Boston Things to Do!). After the picnic in the park, the group went over to Harvard Square for libations. We stayed for the picnic as I had other things to take care of in the evening.

Thank you, Greater Boston Vintage Society for hosting this event. We very much felt at home with you guys and dolls. Looking forward to the next meet up! Credit goes to Jason V for the title image.
