Let’s look at other photoshoot locations that’s not the Boston Common or The Prudential. We love them to death for their open spaces and access to cheap, student budget friendly food, but Boston has a variety of places for shooting epic cosplay photos.
North End (Boston, MA)
When I first visited Boston back in December 2008, I wandered into the North End. As a Baccano fangirl, I thought to myself, “This would be great for a Baccano! cosplay photoshoot!” The North End is Boston’s famed Italian district. There’s plenty of old buildings along Hanover Street. Just walking along Hanover, you feel you’re in a different world. The North End is unique from downtown Boston in a way that it keeps the old world culture and tradition. It can get pretty touristy, but if you find the right places, you can get some great shots.
Restaurants
And boy, they have a ton of them! Salem Street also has a ton of Italian restaurants. One place to check out at least once in your life is Mike’s Pastries. There is a long line for it though. Regina Pizzeria is also hidden in the North End. It’s not part of the main streets, but it’s there if you have a trust worthy GPS. There’s a ton of places that will seat large groups and almost a restaurant on every corner. Take your pick. Will it be calzones or pasta?
Parking and Transit
Most people park in the $25 garage close to the TD Garden. So, if you’re driving, you may want to bring a few friends to pitch in for city parking prices. It is also accessible by the T. You can take either the Orange or Green line. The Orange line will take you to Haymarket. The Green line will take you to North Station. If you are coming in from commuter rail, North Station is your best bet.
