Zot Con took place at the UC Irvine Student Center on Saturday, May 2, 2026. This one-day university convention brought in otaku from the UC Irvine campus and Orange County. The UC Irvine campus has a few anime themed clubs from the OG anime club, Cal Animage Epsilon to maid cafes, Genshin cosplay meet ups, and more. Zot Con has been slowly growing, becoming an affordable alternative to the massive voice actor and celebrity focused conventions celebrating human artists and creating a space for young Gen Z folks to cosplay their favorite anime and video game characters on the UC Irvine campus.
This year, Geki and I were asked to provide panels for the university event. We’re pretty local to the Irvine campus and we had a free Saturday…so, why not?
