Sakura Con 2025 took place on April 18 – 20, 2025 in downtown Seattle taking up space in the Seattle Convention Center in both the Arch and Summit buildings. Arguably the largest gathering and collective of nerds in the state of Washington, Sakura Con has been going strong for the past 20 years. Sakura Con started as a small hotel con at a place where a Cheesecake Factory now stands. While attendee numbers are not published at the time of this writing, Sakura Con definitely brings in otaku from across the west coast.
Sakura Con’s guest list is second to none. In an era where travel advisory is on high alert, Sakura Con managed to get A-list Japanese guests such as Sally Amaki, Reol, Sora Tokui, and more. I was very hyped to interview Sora Tokui, but unfortunately, she had to decline our interview request at the last minute. However, Sakura Con has earned a reputation to be one of THE cons for idols and giant robots given its long standing relationship with Sunrise.
Let’s take a look at Sakura Con’s cursed 2025 event…
Disclosure: I was invited as a panelist at Sakura Con 2025.
