Sakura Con 2024 took place on March 29 – 31, 2024 in downtown Seattle at the Seattle Convention Center. This is the Pacific Northwest’s largest anime event and one of its longest running anime conventions. 2024 brought in guests from Studio Trigger, the Love Live franchise, and Japanese voice actors from the upcoming Gundam Seed Freedom movie. Coco Hayashi and Chiemi Tanaka brought in Love Live fans from across the country to see them. Gundam guests, Rie Tanaka and Soichiro Hoshi, were on their publicity tour for the latest entry into the Gundam cosmic era. Sakura Con as proven to be an event where Japanese culture and fandom intersect. Even though there was a prominent industry presence at this annual event, the vibe was still very much for fans by fans.
