Anime Los Angeles 19 (2024) took place on January 4-7, 2024 in the Long Beach Convention Center in downtown Long Beach, CA. This is the third year the annual weekend long anime show has taken place in the LBC. Cosplay ancestors such as myself were having flashbacks to the days of Anime Expo 2001, 2002, and 2007. ALA 19 (or Anime Los Angeles in their 19th year) had American voice over guests such as Ezra Weisz, Tara Sands, Caitlin Glass, and others. This convention also has a ton of community guests such as Lemar Harris, Andrew Alandy, and others. Cosplay guests such as Midnight Pursona, Cowbutt Crunchies, and Artemis Ai also held masquerade responsibilities as show judges.
The best Anime Los Angeles’ are held at the Long Beach Convention Center. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. ALA is one of the last standing all weekend events that has programming from the early morning hours into the evening. The only other anime convention that is comparable to this familiar format is Anime Expo, but ALA is much smaller that its industry counterpart. Let’s see how ALA’s third year in Long Beach fared…
