Parody of "La Vie Boheme" from Rent. This song along with footage taken from Anime Expo reflects the trends and changing face of the anime convention scene. One day it's Ranma, the next day it's Naruto. One day, it's 12,000 attendees, the next day it's 30,000 conventioneers. Borders once had a shelf of manga, now it's section with middle school kids catching up on Fruits Basket. You get the idea.

It's a bonus video from Fanime 2005. I used "Hey Hey! We're The Monkees" as the music. The lyrics fit perfectly well with the Naruto generation.

The original idea was to use "Wilkomen" from Caberet. Since my computer was being bitchy with long songs, I went back to my Fanime 2003 theme (Prince) and decided to use "Let's Go Crazy." I feel that song captures the atmosphere of fans' crazy quirks at anime conventions.

Because cosplayers gotta work it! The original featured a medley of selections from Gwen Stefani's solo album, but the idea was scrapped. For the sake of camp and the fact that I realized that there's a RuPaul doll out, why not?
