Traveling Valentine likes to take some time from the usual anime convention scene to hit the multi genre convention circuit. Believe it or not, before anime conventions there were Sci Fi conventions. We have attended Wonder Con, World Con (LA Con IV), and last year's SiliCon. Suffice to say, we were not impressed with World Con (hence, no report), but were glad that SiliCon 2006 turned out to be a great experience for the friends that were there. The San Jose Double Tree hotel and conference center served as a cozy place to mingle with friends and enjoy some fandom fun. Otherwise, SiliCon was just one of those small conventions where you can just sit down and catch up with friends (and meet some great industry people like Mr. Lobo!)
