To anyone who has ever experienced making costumes the night before knows this story all too well. However, this was not my costume, but my resin kid's. I ran into one disaster in which the needle got jammed into the fabric, but that was quickly solved by Claudine, the Goddess of Sewing Machines. Belldandy was not available on the goddess hotline, so Claudine had to make do. Finally, Eponine had something to wear to SiliCon.

I woke up the next day to the sound of the shower. 7:10AM. I went back to sleep until Claudine called me. It was already 8:10AM and I had to be at her house in 20 minutes! It was okay. She lives nearby anyway. I put on the pink Fujiko and packed the white go go boots. I boarded the MUNI over to Claudine's house. While waiting for Alex, Claudine oriented me with places where Tom and I can get ribbons to pass out to convention attendees. For those of you in the anime convention scene, Sci Fi cons normally pass out ribbons to attach to your badge. A bunch of our friends are getting into this now.

Alex finally came by to get us at 10:30. Johnny played the sounds of Weird Al's Straight Out of Lynwood on his pink iPod. Claudine talked about her days as Frida Kahlo. We were all amused by her Spanglish talking. We arrived at the Double Tree at noon-ish. I had to drop off some of my swag in Tom's car so I met up with him first. At first, I thought he brought his brother, Michael, but it turned out to be Pikmin Link in muggle clothing. From a distance she really did look like Tom's brother.

We got ourselves registered. Before I got my badge, I really had to go to the bathroom. Let me say, I was really impressed by the bathrooms. Very luxurious.

For the most part, it was simply wandering around the Double Tree Hotel. The Dealer Room seemed to have a variety of things to offer - everything from realistic looking animal plushies to J-rock Lolita looks. Even Tom spotted a dealer selling Star Wars Legos. Though I do wonder if the dealer for the plushies donning Japanese kimonos is aware that if an obi is tied in front it means courtesan. Hm...(then again, foxes are regarded as vixens in the furry fandom)

Of course, SiliCon is very personal enough that you can actually have conversations with Industry people. Tom and I had a great talk with Mr. Lobo of Cinema Insomnia. I first heard of him during the Wonder Con halftime show. I complimented him because I thought he puts on great half time entertainment. (Hm...the anime convention scene could use his soul...) Tom was watching him for about a year. Both of us watch Cinema Insomnia when we can. For more information about Mr. Lobo and Cinema Insomnia, please visit the official Cinema Insomnia site. Remember, "they're not bad movies, they're just misunderstood."

We also ran into Rob Miles. He gave us some updates about where Fanime is going. We are very excited to see what Fanime has in store for 2007. Unfortunately, we took a picture with Rob Miles and it didn't show up on the memory stick. ;_; Give us a call anytime Rob! We're also looking forward to Sac-Anime in January. Looks like B Sapphire has great things planned ahead.

Also, Consplayers did a very nice photoshoot of us. Check out these photos:

For the most part, a group of us gathered in front of the fireplace in the main lobby just to hang out. Claudine, Pikmin Link, Reiko, and I got our resin kids out for a photoshoot. Tom decided to be silly and perverted. He took parts of Claudine's doll and made interesting parts. I'll let the NSFW pictures tell it:

Pikmin Link really wanted to hit Mickey D's. I didn't mind considering that I haven't had fast food in a while. Bart Boy and friends decided to join up with us. It was hell walking in go go boots to the Mickey D's. I had a run in my panty hose and my boot zipper broke! However, we arrived. A bunch of us started looking through the ball joint doll book that I got from Haute Doll. A bunch of us girls were thumbing through the book and going like, "Like oh my God! I totally hate that make up!" Yeah, even in the doll world, us girls can be very judgemental about how other people look and dress.

We walked back to the Double Tree. Because my feet still felt the pain, Claudine let me borrow her running shoes. We got back to the hotel and just chilled at the lobby. It was mainly exchanging methods to freak out your parents. Bart Boy suggested to dress up like Alphonse (Full Metal Alchemist) and re-enact a the scene from Back to the Future when Marty invades his (1955-ish) father in bed.

For the mean time, Pikmin Link, Claudine, Reiko, Tom, and I were scouting out the hotel for a good place for doll photos. So Link, Dante, and Eponine had their chance at a photoshoot. I had Eponine wear one of Pikmin Link's creations. Claudine still had Mini Me Lady Saiyan yet to be born. I was doll sitting Pikmin Link's Link and I made him dance the "Bye Bye Bye" dance.

Finally, Karisu showed up! She offered to help Claudine string up her doll. Unfortunately, none of us had stringing tools. Yet, Karisu improvised with safety pins and a nail cutter. It was time to start the labor. For the most part, we just chilled by the fire place and played with dolls. At 7:15PM PST, Claudine's MSD Sakura girl was welcomed into our world. Albeit, she had no face make up, but she was here to join the rest of the resin kids present. Karisu is now another godfather to a doll. Eponine is now an aunt to Mini Me Lady Saiyan (though Eponine is months older than Mini!).

It was a night to remember for it was full of love and violence... life and a game of death. Game of Death?! Apparantly, Pikmin Link's doll took some Bruce juice and turned into Bruce Lee. "Bruce Link" as we dubbed it, started with Pikmin Link allowing Mini Me Lady Saiyan to wear it's read Chinese top. Without a top, Link bore an uncanny resemblence to Bruce Lee. Therefore, the doll started kicking everyone's butt. Bart Boy and Pikmin Link could not stand a chance against the dragon.

Tom and I were having great times with our friends. Apparantly, we almost for there was a con going on. It was just all about letting the good times roll. We didn't stay for masquerade, although we would have loved to have seen Dany and D's Dawn costumes, but we had a long drive up to San Francisco. Instead, Tom and I went down Fanime 2003 memory lane over to Bennigans.

Going to Bennigans brought us back some memories from Fanime 2003. This is where we first met Hitori (who introduced us to SiliCon). Tom gave Chibiko piggy back rides. Of course, this was way before we became a couple. We were simply good, close friends back at Fanime 2003, but at this point, we're happily attached.

SiliCon may be our last convention of 2006, but we still have Eurobeat King's Winchester gathering this year. It was great bonding with everyone at SiliCon. Thank you to everyone we have met! Feel free to add us on myspace!
