After running several morning errands, including wishing our warmest blessings to a friend heading back to Oklahoma, we were off from San Jose en route to San Mateo. It was about a 45 minute drive without traffic. By the time we arrived at the classy Marriot, it was already noon. We checked into the hotel. It seemed that most of the convention was out to lunch. The registration area and the Dealer's Room were closed for lunch. For the most part, Tom and I shot cosplayers with our cameras and our guns. We were cosplaying from Gunslinger Girl as Henrietta and Jose. Tom had the appropriate gun Henrietta used in the first episode. I had a great time room clearing. We ran into Bart Boy at the main foyer of the hotel. For the most part, we we caught up on life and watched anime music videos (amvs). Tom wanted to shoot the computer once "Elephant Love Melody" came on. For the record, he hates Moulin Rouge. There was a special event for Conpass holders. Conpass holders were people who had a room with the hotel. Tom and I met Johnny Yong Bosch, the voice talent for Vash (Trigun), Ichigo (Bleach,), and Some Guy (Devil May Cry 4). Along the way, we ran time some Gunslinger Girl fangirls who know what were were cosplaying from! We also ran into Old Man Alex and Consplayers. To relax for the rest of the day, Tom and I went in regular, mundane clothing, but we were still in style. Tom still carried a gun because he's Tom. We went to the Ball Jointed Doll tea party hosted by Dollectable. It was nice to take a breather from taking pictures of cosplayers to spending time with resin children that posed no hostility (or yellow alert hostility to Tom). I did not bring my dolls to Tales of Anime since I was too lazy to bring them up. Otherwise, it was a nice, quaint event. Even though were in civillian attire, Consplayers took pictures of us anyway. We also ran into the Host Club gathering while Cassandra attacked Bart Boy with a bear. It was getting closer to masquerade... Pictures are copyright by Victoria Erica.
