Tom and I had a great time Pacific Media Expo. While it was a small con of maybe 3,000 atendees on a November weekend, there was a varied amount of stuff to do. Dollfie gatherings in the morning, free snacks at the Anime Los Angeles hospitality suite, and never ending karaoke. Of course, the karaoke was the best part of PMX. If more cons implemented a wider variety of songs - mostly American songs - into the open microphone repitoire, I think we got something going. There's nothing like having a ton of Narutards doing the YMCA on stage. You guys did a great job with all night karaoke. Keep it the way it is! My only complaint with PMX was the Lolita events seem to saturate other events as well. Hey, it's great that Angelic Pretty can come on over, but I think there should have been equal publicity to James Kyson Lee and Collin Chou's appearances at PMX. Not to mention, I heard from several sources that the Lolita events volunteers and guests were being treated harshly (ie: no lunch breaks). Personally, I was offended when a Lolita staff member compared press to the likes of "servants that should not be seen." If that's how press is treated for a specific event, then we have other things to cover at PMX. PMX has a lot of potential living up to its name and its statement. Maybe someday we'll see Masi Oka and James Kyson Lee doing a Heroes panel together. We also need to bring back Rex Navarette! Of course, seeing friends one more time before 2007 is up is always a good thing. Not much in California after this! One last time to enjoy a masquerade together. One last time to cosplay together. One last time to spend our last dollar in the dealer's room. 2007 was one of, if not the best years of our convention history. There were many great things this year starting with Anime Los Angeles. PMX was a very relaxed, mellow event. Afterwards, Tom and I took a week long vacation in New York City. Thanks a lot to Tom for sharing every single moment with me. Here's to 2008.
