Sailor Moon Canadian Dub Cast Q&A by Scarlet
In recent years, the Canadian cast has been touring the North America con circuit to talk about the behind the scenes of the first Sailor Moon English adaptation. John Stocker, Linda Ballantyne, and Katie Griffin made a guest appearance for the first time ever at Otakon. While we have seen John and Linda at Anime Boston, the cast was fresh from their Anime Expo stop and had more stories to tell about their adventures in voice acting. Fans requested lines to be said. Fans even asked about their opinions on the new dub for Sailor Moon. While they expressed even before Viz made the announcement that they would love to have been a part of the new production, they wished the current cast the best. Unfortunately, because Katie was in a car accident during Anime Expo, the cast didn't have much time to view the new dub at Anime Expo. However, it was really nice to hear Linda talk about the time she had to play drunk Serena during the third season.

Dante Basco Q&A by Scarlet
Shortly after the Canadian voice actors for Sailor Moon left, Avatar fans started claiming their seats to hear the fire lord talk about his behind the scenes experience in the entertainment industry. Dante Basco is best known his roles as Ruffio (Hook) and Zuko (Avatar). Perhaps what got the crowd super riled was his poetry beats to the Zutara pairing. Our copy editor is quite fond of the Katara and Zuko pairing. Even Dante had the same feelings about the cave scene as the fans were. Dante was also asked to sing for the audience, but he gave a raincheck for the request for his next panel. Dante seemed pretty chill and relaxed. Even though there were fans lining up to have him answer a burning fan question (mostly of the Avatar persuasion), he greeted each person and did his best to make even the most star strucked fan feel like a friend of his.

Love Live Cosplay Meet Up by Scarlet
The Love Live fandom is rapidly growing. Friday evening had a gaggle of Love Live cosplayers representing various characters from the school idol group, μ. While the meet up officially took place in the terrace gardens, the meet up kept moving around the convention center. We had about 20 idols all together representing different outfits from the series. I was wearing Rin in the Dancing Stars on Me outfit from the Halloween episode. Cosplayers were wearing outfits from the opening scenes from both seasons. The most popular of all the girls had to be Nico. Perhaps the most surprisingly cosplay was someone who was actually cosplaying as a the mobile game, School Idol Festival. The mobile game can be found on both Android and Apple for free download.

Otakon Night Life by Scarlet
As tired as we were, the Otakon nightlife was in full swing. An anime dance crew was doing an impromptu performance in the fountain lobby area. They were covering various anime dances. On the other side of the convention center, there was a very long line for the nightly rave. People were storing their bags at check in before entering the dance. There were also late night panels in the Hilton; most of which required a 18+ wrist band. For the most part, we were quite pooped after being up since 7AM. However, the night time was a perfect time to socialize with cosplayers or making new friends. We turned in around 10PM to get an early start for Saturday.
