After running several morning errands, Tom and I took the Benz all the way to Northridge. To summarize what happened the night before, Julia mentioned that the Masquerade department were looking for more entries. On a whim, Tom and I entered just for fun. We have not done anything masquerade related since Anime Los Angeles 2007. After going through my iTunes collection and perusing through Jersey Boys dialogue, we came up with the short skit before midnight. Tom wrote up lines in a chaotic manner that resembled scribblings on a cocktail napkin. Would it be enough for a skit for the rest of Traveling Valentine?

Registration was $40 for this three day event, though we only showed up for two days. We went right ahead to register for masquerade.

Right across the masquerade office was the gaming room (as hosted by Team Banzai). Luckily, when we went in, it was not reaking of eau d'Fanboy.

There were many things going on in one place. The main plaza had plenty of bands performing. While it livened up the con, it was at an area where if you wanted to talk to friends, you had to go indoors or go somewhere else. JoJo AIDS (tm) has struck Southern California by way of Hanyaan. Maguma and Livengood show how WRY is done (and would like to clarify that it is not a substitute for WHY? and that wry rhymes with "free," not "rye").

Saturday was Pokemon day. Despite the Pokemon Gijinka trend, trainers outnumbered the humanoid pokemon. However, Pikachu Gijinka were the most popular types among the Gijinka cosplayers. The Pokemon cosplayers decided to gather on a remote, grassy area of CSUN. It was also a nice area to have lunch. Before going to Mikomi, Tom and I went to Albertson's to grab some yummy sushi. Team Diamond and Pearl had a lovely picnic as prepared by Brock (Tom).

Stan, Julia, and Caitlin were at the Johnny Yong Bosch panel. En route to the Fitness Center complex, we caught glimpse of the watermelon eating contest.

Tom, Deb, and I sat through the Johnny Yong Bosch panel. For the most part, he talked about wanting to broaden out from voice acting. For the most part, he answered fan questions. Bosch enjoys first person shooting games and Kingdom Hearts, though he's never finished it. He fufilled a few fan requests such as doing the Vash laugh and giving a hug to a fellow fangirl.

For the rest of the time before masquerade, we chilled in the Consplayers room. We were talking to Gundam 00 cosplayers about how Anime Expo and Comic Con International should be placed on the same weekend as per Tom's suggestion since hearing of the large crowds from both. In addition, we also did fake codec calls. Video Link.
