It was Sunday morning. Like the previous day, the rain really came down. This time, it was thunder and lightning. I was thinking if it would be best to stay indoors and ditch the convention. We were given offers to hit Dickens Fest (Victorian Fair in the likes of A Christmas Carol), but we have already made committments to go to Japan Town Anime Faire. Sunday was Fruits Basket day. Yes, we still wore summer uniforms in the middle of a rainstorm. Luckily, we had jackets that compliment the uniforms very nicely.

Eve, Tom, and I BARTed and MUNIed to Japan Town once the rain got lighter. Luckily, my camera was working better on Sunday after Tom fixed it on the previous night.

Sunday was also the cosplay contest. Because of the weather, the cosplay contest was held indoors in very small space. Tom and I did not compete this year, we thought it would be best just to watch the event. It was so cold, that I ran over to the coffee shop and got me some hot chocolate and I ran over the bakery to get Tom some anpan. I was able to get some shots of the cosplay contest entrants off to the side. I enjoyed performances by BART Boy as Laguna who did his own version of "I Left My Heart in San Francisco," Final Fantasy Shiney Things go Christmas caroling, Sailor Moon dancing to "Wishing Bell," and others. Congratulations to the winners, but a big thank you to everyone who went up stage for making the cosplay show still going!

After the cosplay show, Tom and I went over to lunch. I was jonesing for some tempura. Unfortunately Mifune had a long line, so we went to the restaurant next door. Unfortunately, the tempura wasn't that crispy, but shrimp is still shrimp to me. After lunch, we watched the mochi making ceremony. It was truly an enjoyable performance and albeit, my favorite part of JTAF programming. Despite that this was nearly a last minute addition, I was really happy that JTAF brought something unique and something that had the spirit of Japan Town (because we all know Japanese culture isn't just about bishies and mecha...I hope). Tom and our other friend Tony participated in this event in which they also learned the traditional ways of pounding mochi.

Afterwards, we ran into another group of friends. We went to the Miyako Radisson for the dollfie gathering. I really had no idea that one was taking place. I believe we scared Tony. It was really nice seeing everyone's darlings. Dany's Sai showed off his new wig. I really liked Moo's redhead (sorry, I forgot the name!). Afterwards, Tom and I went back to the Japan Center and shared a crepe. I must mention that Sophie's Crepes is the best place for crepes and gelato ice cream. After having that savory treat, it was time to head to the airport.

Sunday would be my last day in San Francisco for a while. Until then, I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season. It was nice seeing friends again. I shall see you all at the next Bay Area event however soon the next one is. Tom and I shall be attending Anime Los Angeles in January. Happy Holidays, everyone!
