Has anyone ever had this conversation before?

Random Friend: We are so going to hang out at (insert con name here)!!!!

You: I can't wait to see you!!

Random Friend: We're gonna have so much fun!

You: Hell yeah!

But in the end, you're at the con, and you run into each other. It's a simple, "Hi! I gotta get somewhere right now, but I'll see you soon." That see you soon becomes the entire weekend. I was rather reluctant to believe my SoCal friends when I broke the news that I would be returning to Torrance. Many of my friends - mostly from Brilliant Moon cosplay - exclaimed how they loved to spend more time once I moved back to the area.

Previously, I've had that same conversation before prior to the time when I moved to San Francisco and any other con. I don't say things like that anymore, but I don't make promises I can't keep. My move to SoCal was a different situation.

Looking back to an initial LiveJournal post I made, everyone, yes everyone, who said they wanted to see me and get to know me better once I moved to Torrance, kept their word. You have no idea how much this means to me. This is why I took time to publish this report because all of you - even though there are others who were not at Fake Con and JCN (Jarod, Mary, to name a few) - kept your word. You have no idea how much this means to me! Through the time I spent with all of you, I felt a little bit closer to all of you. I can only hope that these friendships continue to grow and prosper.

It's not a Traveling Valentine report unless I mention Tom. "Absence makes the heart grow fonder." On March 22, 2007, he showed up at my door (alongside Claudine and Patrick). I gave him the biggest huggle glomp that would trump any crazy, rabid fangirl at Yaoi Con. I really missed him, and I still do. I don't know where I'll be within these next couple of months, but as long as I have Tom and good friends at my side, I'll be happy.
