Night time sharpens, heightens each sensation...October 31st, a national day of hedonism celebrated by many. Hey, it's all about the free candy! As a San Francisco girl, I didn't bother going to the Castro. Instead, my Halloween was spent at San Jose's Winchester Mystery House. Tom and I have done the tour before on our first Valentine's Day, but just to get away from the weird stuff that will occur in the city, best to be safe with a group of people we all know (and sometimes love). To kick off Halloween, I took pictures around school. I wanted to see what my schoolmates were conjuring up. Of course, with age, dressing up is not common as when we were kiddies. However, I did find a few...including a tasty looking bug...wait a second...that's NOT candy! Then after class, Eve and I took the BART down to Fremont where Tom was waiting for us. We drove all the way down to San Jose because Tom knows the way to San Jose. We met Orochi and his friend at the Winchester Gift Shop where it was nice and warm. Then we went outside and met other cosplayers and thus began the garden tour lead by Albert (aka The Eurobeat King). For the record, I was dressed up as Christine Daae from Phantom of the Opera (stage version) thanks to Amethyst Angel. Tom was dressed up as a Naruto nunja. If you know Rex Navarette's comedy routines, listen to his bit about nuns. You'll get the joke. Then after the garden tour, we all went back inside to the gift shop. We ran into Nando dressed up as Nabeshin. I mistaken him for a Lupin III. Eve, Tom, and I were simply goofing around the gift shop. Then it was about time to head over to Milpitas Golfland. When we arrived at Milpitas Golfland, we thought it was closing, but apparantly, the second arcade room was open for another hour. Tom went on his first person shooter spree with games like Time Crisis. I just wandered around watching cosplayers do gaming. I couldn't exactly do Para Para Paradise or Dance Dance Revolution in my Christine costume! Eve, Tom, and I were feeling really hungry. Stella came by to Milpitas Golfland for a bit and we went to Bubble in Milpitas. Bubble has really yummy crepes and yummy chicken nuggets. Although salty, they were very addicting. To top the night off, what would be a Halloween without the sweets? Tom and I shared a mixed fruit crepe. It was getting late, so we went back to the city while listening to the comedy of Rex Navarette. It's been a spiffy Halloween! Thank you everyone! ^_^ Pictures are copyright by Victoria Erica October 2005. If I took your picture, feel free to use it on your site or cosplay gallery.
