With the end of the mission and last night's Masquerade, Fanime was winding down to its final moments. Tom and I cosplayed from Fruits Basket. I went as Tohru (with new ribbons) and Tom went as Shigure. Eurobeat King kept tormenting Shigure to affect Tom (a send back to last night's JoJo Con). In conclusion, I think Eurobeat King would make a fine Hatori to Tom's Shigure. We did one last round in the Dealers Rroom. I got me a Gunslinger Girl bag and a Gin Ichimaru plushie. Tom did one free spin at Gaia online. In the end, this is what we came home with. Tom bought Cosette a new wig after she lost her hair the day before. Ace provided Tom with a convincing argument why he should purchase at least one kind of Megatron gun figure. First, it was no longer manufactured anywhere so they were getting rarer and more expensive with each passing con. Second was nostalgia reasons previously mentioned in the MI-6 file. Not only was Megatron becoming a rare toy, its P-38 gun mode was a piece out of history. Real P-38s are rare after the end of WWII. Indirectly, this Megatron spanned several types of history so it was almost a sin for a gun-loving, nostalgia hunting guy like Tom not to own one.
For the most part, we said our goodbyes and "See you at Anime Expo" to our friends. While Anime Expo was only a month away, it was a bittersweet end. We started joking around with Consplayers because everytime we ran into them, we said "Bye bye. See you next month!" but we kept running into them non-stop. It was the same case with Eurobeat King. Lacie called us and wished us a safe flight back on behalf of Brilliant Moon and Friends. Asian School Boy had this crazy scheme to set up a photo camera battle. What a way to wrap up Monday. One great highlight from Monday was seeing Steve's Mach 5 in the parking lot. As we were heading out we caught a few pictures of it. Tom and I went out to Johnny Rocket's one more time for a late lunch. We reflected on what a great weekend it was. In a way, Fanime 2007 reminded me why I keep enjoying going to these anime conventions. I started going when I was 14 in high school, and now I'm turning 23. It's amazing how time flies. As "Turn Turn Turn" started playing in the restaurant, I started to tear up, but all good things must come to an end. I insisted that Tom and I should go to the convention center one more time for old time sake. While there would be nothing going on, it would be nice to take in the last fleeting moments. Karisu and family was there! I was so overjoyed because I really had no idea they would be showing up! Even for a few seconds it was nice to see the cosplay family again. Tom and I descended back into the parking garage. When we leave Fanime, it will be together. Next stop, Anime Expo: Vice City. Pictures are copyright by Victoria Erica.
