Working at the Los Angeles Asian Film Festival gave me word of Midway's John Woo tribute fan film contest. I passed the word to Tom, who knows more about classic Hong Kong John Woo films better than I do. On Fanime Friday night, Traveling Valentine performed the movie within the movie.

We got Bart Boy, Claudine, Kenny, and Stan involved in this film project. Tom, Stan, and I walked around as Hong Kong triads in 80's glasses and black suits. Kenny provided us with minty fresh toothpicks.

Tom's "A Better Killer Tomorrow: Redux" synopsis:

"It's a basic tribute to the classic elements of John Woo and the Hong Kong gun movie. You've got The Guy, who's the main character with the Beretta 92Fs. There's also The Other Guy, who is a friend, rival and enemy of The Guy. And to top it off, there is The Girl who is a catalyst to the two Guys. Throw in a stand-off, plenty of weapons, doves, boats, motorcycles, slow-motion, and even freeze-frame.

If things develop properly, there may be a plot in this film."

Afterwards, Stan had to run to masquerade rehearsal. Tom, Claudine, and I went out for dinner and mission debriefings at The City Bar and Grill at the Hilton. Claudine offered to treat us (thanks again) to a good dinner and good drinks. The drink of choice were Midori Sour's. The shaken, not stirred, martinis would have to wait. After dinner, Tom and I went to check out the swap meet. Did I mention Tom got to wear my red stilettos?
