Tom and I wore our signature Lupin and Fujiko costumes. I just realized I left my pink Fujiko costume in Los Angeles, so I pulled the green Die Nostradamus costume out of retirement.

We were lucky that we got a good (read: free) parking spot. It seems everything was cleared for our masquerade bit according to Marisa. However, it seemed like the song of the day was that Pussycat Dolls song, “Don’t You Wish Your Girlfriend was Hot Like Me?” I heard a male cosplay staffer sing it. While passing by Stage Zero, Rey Rey and Wendell were singing it. Yeah, I prefer guys singing that song.

After going through the exhibit hall, Tom and I went to Stage Zero. We were not expecting to stick around for a panel, but Rob Miles, Jonathan Osbourne, Brian Doan, and Giles Poitras talked about a very interesting subject - anime fandom now and then. It is interesting to hear stories about anime fandom from over twenty years ago to the present. The Anime 101 panel was very insightful. I'm glad that Tom and I both came across it by fate!

For the most part it was people watching and people chatting and let's take pictures and video of cosplayers during Sunday. There was this guy at one of the tables with a huge box of Advent Children paraphenelia in it. But WHAT Advent Children paraphennelia. The guy was asking people how much they would pay for this msytery box. All I knew was that it contained the DVD and Cloud's motorcycle.

Cosplay Spectacular started at around 6PM. Tom smuggled a pizza into the theater true to Lupin's style. The crowd was entertained by a Tidus cosplayer as he guitared and sang various anime songs. There was much tension prior to Traveling Valentine’s video premiere. Finally, Brian Doan made the announcement, and there was our video on screen. There were cheers and applause from the audience. Tom and I were very pleased with the end result.

Cosplay Spectacular’s highlights included Evangelion Q, Dead Pilot Sketch, Princes of Tennis – Hyotei Style, Rose of Versailles – Takurazuka style, D Gray Man – The Musical, Final Fantasy Idol (I’d play that version of FF), Guilty Gear, Pocky Girls, and much, much more. The cosplay show was also followed by the results of the Anime Music Video contest. Winners included "There is Life Outside Your Apartment" to the likes of Genshiken, "Hold Me Now" by Nanne Gronval to Princess Tutu, and many others.

Tom and I were getting very sleepy after masquerade. No time for wanderings, we just mixed and mingled with the AnimeFX bunch: Richi, Jason, and a sleeping Aileen. Richi shared his pictures on his desktop. Tom watched Family Guy and, as a shock to those close to him, he actually laughed during the show. That showed how late and tired he was. I proposed a drinking game involving soy milk – one sip per interchangeable joke. First one to go to the bathroom looses.

And for that crazy montage video? Here it is:
