| I
arrived a little after seven well rested and ready for my day three
adventure. I decided to wait by the convention center Starbucks for
a scone to go with my tea. After waiting around for an hour I got my
scone for three dollars. I was not too happy getting ripped off, but
I needed some breakfast and I decided not to let one over priced scone
ruin my day. I went to the media lounge to get some tea and enjoy my
breakfast. It was a nice relaxing morning, until I got a call from the
CtrlAltKill
team. They were running late and were worried they would not make it
to one of their meetings at ten. They asked me to go if they did not
arrive in time.

I got into line by the west hall at nine. I hoped that the CtrlAltKill
team would be there in time so I could get in line to see the 3DS. Thankfully
I got the call saying they had just arrived and I made my way to the
Nintendo booth. People were so excited that I was nearly trampled getting
into the 3DS line. Thankfully I made it to the line in one piece and
I began my hour and forty minute wait.
The guys I was hanging out with in line were pretty cool. We talked
about what we had seen the past few days. As the line moved we ended
up in the middle of the Nintendo booth. A booth staff member handed
us wii controllers to play Super Mario Sports Mix. It was fun
playing basketball with the Mario characters. My team was down by a
large margin, until I used a special move to score and my partner scored
during a bonus round which gave us the win. It was a nice distraction
from standing and waiting.
Finally, I was let into the 3DS area. It was very exciting! Some of
the 3D effects seemed hit and miss, but it was still really cool to
try out the prototype. I really loved Nintendogs And Cats and
I was quite surprised at a Dead or Alive game demo. The 3DS
also had several machines set up with various tech demos and movie trailers.
It was too bad that I could not get pictures of the games as they do
not turn out right on camera. I finished up with Ridge Racer,
which looked great and really showed off how depth can enhance a game.
There was so much more I wanted to try, but they cleared out the area
after twenty minutes for the next group. Still I enjoyed my time with
the 3DS.
From the Nintendo booth I returned to the Sony booth to finish up exploring
the new games for the PS3 and PSP. As I did not have a PS3 or PSP I
did not spend much time there, but I had fun trying out the new PSP
God of War game. From Sony I hit Capcom once more to check out the new
zombie in the cage and to check the cute military themed booth babes.
I left the west hall and went to the media lounge to get a quick lunch.

I finished my lunch quickly and went to the south hall in order to check
out a few more booths prior to the appointment with Bethesda at three.
As I walked over I was surprised at how many people had gathered to
watch a Soccer match in the hall. Someone even honked an air horn. During
all the rush and splendor of E3 it was great to see people root for
their team in the World Cup.

As I had some time to kill I went into the back side of the south hall.
I stopped by the Game Streamer booth and they gave me their sales pitch.
It is a cool concept, but probably not something I would do. After that
I went to the G4 booth. This was one of the most uncomfortable things
I covered at E3. I went hoping to have a good time and check out the
stage I have seen in their E3 coverage over the past few years. However,
upon arrival I quickly noticed that four security guards were following
me around the booth. I was welcomed as press by one of the staff members,
but the guards watched me as if I was a criminal. I had to leave the
booth and take a good amount of steps away in order to take some photos
for the report. Despite everything I did get a few quick pictures of
the G4 booth babes.

I walked around for a bit until I hit the Ubisoft booth. Over the years
I have enjoyed many Ubisoft titles, but upon entering the booth I felt
nothing more than disappointment. It seems like it was be a weak year
for Ubisoft at E3. From there I went to the Microsoft booth for another
look at the upcoming Xbox titles. I gamed for a while and put myself
into a good mindset once again.

I took a slow walk from Microsoft up toward the Take Two booth to try
looking at their stuff again. As I walked up I noticed a crowd. There
were people gathered for a photo op with two Playboy models. As I watched
to see what was going on I was approached by a member of the Take Two
staff who told me I was blocking the walkway and that I had to move
away from the area. I am not the type of person to easily take offense.
However, having one of their models heel my foot on day one then being
shooed away from the booth twice for no reason was enough to put a bad
taste in my mouth once again.
In order to clear my head I returned to the Konami booth and I am very
glad that I did. I was approached, respectfully, by the staff who asked
what I was interested in. I talked with them for a bit about the new
Bomberman, how good the new Castlevania games looked,
and the overall style of the booth. It goes to show that not all staffs
at the booths have a rude streak like G4 and Take Two.

I ran into the G4 booth girls again and did another shoot to help lift
my spirits.
As if I was not in a good enough mood I ran into two of my favorite
Internet video makers: Angry
Joe and Spoony.
This was one of the best moments of the expo for me. I saw other internet
personalities, but to see two of my favorite made the day for me. We
did not have much time to chat because we were headed for appointments
in completely different directions.
I got to Bethesda in the nick of time. I have no idea how I made it
all the way back to West Hall in less than ten minutes. Still I was
glad to arrive on time to be able to see the behind closed doors presentation
of Rage. It was pretty cool watching the presentation, the game takes
cues from other popular games, but being from Id Software I expect it
will turn out great. After the Rage presentation I hung out at the booth
playing Fallout New Vegas. I got very distracted by the gambling.
I went around West Hall one more time and found myself stopping at the
Nintendo booth once more. I played a little, but time soon came for
E3 to close. I took a few shots on my way out of the convention center.
I met up with the CtrlAltKill
team and we took one last group shot. I headed home to take a long rest
and reflect on the adventures I had at the Electronic Entertainment
Expo 2010.
