| After
a good night sleep I was ready to go on day two. I arrived a little
after seven in the morning and I had some breakfast in the convention
center lobby. After breakfast I hit the media lounge for tea and to
organize my notes from the day before. This day the exhibit halls opened
at ten. I got into line early and got ready to finish up the South Hall.

I began my day two journey by stopping by the THQ booth and being floored
by the giant robot they had set up to promote Red Faction Armageddon.
This got me very excited about the THQ lineup. However, it was mostly
wrestling games. They are not my usual genre of game, but I heard that
several pro-wrestlers would show up later that day to promote the game.
THQ put on a great show and got me pumped up for the remainder of the
day.

Leaving THQ I saw the giant screen playing clips from the new Mortal
Kombat game. Another wave of nostalgia came over me. I was glad
to see the classic series being brought back better than ever. I passed
through the Warner Brothers booth on my way to Konami which was one
of the booths I most wanted to see at E3.

I was very excited about the Konami booth due to two upcoming Castlevania
releases. I tried out both games and was even more surprised by the
arrival of a new Bomberman and the return of Bonk. It is nice
to see the old school games getting a revival. Konami also had their
share of rhythm and singing games. The booth had a screen playing a
video featuring "interviews" with Glee. It was nice
to see some Glee themed booth babes, a real change from the
usual. I had no idea what they meant by “doing the L’ I was hoping it
was something sexual, but it turned out to be an inside joke about the
show.

I
had an appointment at noon with Tecmo-Koei. On my way from the Konami
booth, I stopped by the Take Two booth to set up a meeting. While in
the booth I was rudely told to move away. It was a bit upsetting to
be treated that way, but I did not have time to dwell on it as I had
to get to my appointment.
It became noon faster than I expected and I found myself at the Tecmo-Koei
booth. This was another of my appointments. This was one of the appointments
I was looking forward to as I am a fan of many series produced by these
merged companies. The staff was very courteous to me and I had fun meeting
the developers of several games. This was a nice way to wrap up the
South Hall for day two.
I left the South Hall and made my way to the media lounge as it was
near my next stop the west hall. At the lounge I organized my notes
and swag then had some lunch and got ready to hit the West Hall.
Going into the west hall felt like starting all over again. Everything
was new and I had to learn my way around. I began at Perfect World Entertainment,
makers of several free MMORPGs that are similar in style to World
of Warcraft. I had played one of their games about two years ago
and I have considered getting into another one of their games if I get
some free time. From there I went to the Sony Online Entertainment to
see more online game options. Although I was excited about DC Universe
Online last year, this year it did not seem to really call out to me.
With MMO companies out of the way I hit one of my favorite booths of
the expo. Capcom had a great set up with plenty of places to play, a
zombie cage, huge screens, and even a Marvel vs. Capcom 3 tournament.
It was fun looking over everything and playing a few games. After Capcom
I wandered a bit until I decided it was time to take a break. I was
very worn out even at the three o’clock hour.
During my short break I was lucky enough to run into Adam, a member
of CtrlAltKill.
We decided to team up to cover the rest of the west hall. Some of the
lines were crazy, but we were able to play a few rounds of Marvel
vs. Capcom 3 and even took a shot at Time Crisis for the
Playstation Move. However, the highlight for me was playing the Wii-make
of Goldeneye. It brought back some great memories of high school. We
wrapped up the day at the Sony booth and both felt accomplished in our
work for the day.

I got home after seven due to traffic. I was feeling totally worn out
so I decided it was better to rest at home then to go to the after party
event held that night. It was a shame to miss a party that offered free
tacos and an open bar, but I felt my health was more important than
a party.
