Saturday's crowed was no different from the previous day's. After all, Saturday was the first day to really sell out fast. Stan was the first to get the morning started. Deb and I were giggling that Stan was ironing his Grimmjaw naked because our line of sight from the bed looked like he was. I couldn't decide if I wanted to be in Division 5-chan, Kim (Miss Saigon), or just plain civvies. In the end, I just wanted to look nice and elegant since that's how I roll. I ended up going in regular civvies. Like Tom not being present, it felt surreal attending a huge fandom convention in what I normally wear. Yet, Diana and Kat assured that the Channel ensemble still looked very Victoria. We boarded the train. Stan left a little earlier. Again, we were packed like sardines inside the the train. Yet, we talked to one girl who used to be affiliated with Broccoli. She told us that we were on the same train as the cast from Heroes. Deb, Justin, and I covered the Fairly Oddparents panel. While I wanted to be at the Heroes panel (and I've never seen an episode of Fairly Oddparents either), I really enjoyed this one. Looks like I'm missing out on yet another awesome Nick Toon! The big news was revealing the artwork for the Wishology special. The best part was seeing voice actors Rob Paulsen and Tara Strong. I will be sure to catch Fairly Oddparents on my Video on Demand one of these days. If not, I am certain that either Deb or Justin will get me to. Since were were really waiting for Hasbro's Transformers panel, we decided to sit through the Watching the Watchmen panel since Transformers and Bleach were in the same room. Honestly, I could not tell if it was Alan Moore. The extent to my knowledge of Watchmen is a Simpsons episode where Alan Moore guest stars to promote Watchmen Babies. The Watching the Watchmen panel became nappy time for Deb and I. We got closer seats for the Transformers panel. It was more driven towards the toys. I had expectations that they would show a clip from Revenge of the Fallen, but there was not anything showed. I was also expecting revations for Transformers: Animated season 3. Otherwise, it was still enjoyable. Tom reported on the panel remotely. Be sure to check out his editorial on Associated Content. Unfortunately, I spilled coke all over my Burburry purse. Luckily, Deb had napkins on standby. The splash damage was bad to the point where I had to rush to the bathroom to get more napkins. Before that, I ran into Angela who was cosplaying as Rukia. Angela was smart. She stayed through the Transformers panel while waiting for Bleach. I left the rest of the team to cover Tite Kubo while I went to cover Terminator Salvation. The line for Terminator Salvation was long, but it was certainly moving. I decided to stick around for the first half. The best part was when a Sarah Connor cosplayer questioned the panel about how the machines will bring forth dooms day. Following Sarah Connor, we had a T-1000 wielding a photo of John Connor. He asked the panelists if they have seen the boy. The two cosplayers were so into character that it was amusing! Of course, we were also treated to the full Terminator Salvation trailer. Really looking forward to Summer 2009! I went back to the dealer's room to check up on the rest of my friends. Freya wanted to meet up. I was able to talk to her shortly. She told me about how awesome the Avatar panel was. I still wished I could have made it. Stan saw that I was falling into a faint spell, so we decided to go grab lunch in the gas lamp district. We tried for Lou and Mickey's, but they were only serving alcohal at 2PM. Then we went for Mary Jane's Cafe. Though it was a 15 minute wait, they gave us an eternity. Fat Momma just walked right in while we were waiting. To our dissapointment, we decided to stick with convention center food. While I do have the money for convention food, I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for. I just preferred eating in the company of friends in a sit down restaurant talking business and plotting out what to do for the rest of the day. I thought about hitting the voice acting panel, but it turned out to be the same panel from Anime Expo, but with more voice actor celebrities like Wendee Lee and Tom Kenny. While it would have been nice to see them, there was a long line for standby seating. That's what Comic Con is - a line con. However, I did find out from Rachel and Balthassar that there was a con suite right next door at the Marriot. For one thing, it was a much more relaxing and social enviroment rather than squatting on the convention center floor admist the convention hustle and bustle. There were tons of soda to pick from as well as an assortment of chocolate and chips. I informed Deb and Stan about the con suite, they were pretty interested in joining us, but I already made plans for the rest of the evening with the SiliCon folks. Grant invited us to go out to dinner in downtown. You would think that everyone at the covention would flock to the masquerade on Friday evening. Not necessarily the case. The gas lamp district was the happening spot to be. It seemed like almost every night when the convention center closed, there was a mass exodus to the gas lamp district. Luckily, Grant had already made reservations at a Japanese restaurant, Kiyo. The sushi was great! For the most part, I was talking to some lovely Sex and the City ladies of cosplay and their fanboy horror stories. Grant suggested that conventions should start having a Chris Hansen on duty to catch creepy old fanboys. After dinner, we crossed the happenin' gas lamp district. One club was playing "I Ran (So Far Away)." Theo and I started to play Grand Theft Auto: Vice City with real cars. Everyone else went to catch what's left of the masquerade. I went back to the hotel because I forgot my medication, and I really needed to call it a night to start Sunday fresh (as opposed to being a Sunday con zombie).
