Woke up this morning and got myself no guns because the character I was cosplaying during Friday uses knives. At 5:30AM, the crack of dawn, Stan came by my place to pick me up. Then we stopped by Fullerton to pick up Deb. From there, it was the long road to Comic Con. The drive was not that bad at all, unfortunately, Stan had to pull aside to take a nap. Deb and I were talking like schoolgirls to keep him alert on the road. We finally arrived at our destination - Comic Con. It was hell trying to find a parking space near the convention center at 8:30AM. The original plan was to leave our car in the convention center and drive to the hotel later in the evening, but we had to fall on Plan B.

I called Diana and Kat to see if we could park at our hotel, the Town and Country Inn. Before the convention, I did some research on our hotel - it seemed like a nice five star resort. When we got to the hotel, boy, did the website lie! Stan had trouble finding the hotel since Kat gave vague directions, so we stopped by the San Diego visitor's center for more information. Since, Kat and Diana were in an interesting situation with the hotel, we couldn't drop our stuff off and change. So, we just made use of the hotel's poolside bathrooms to change into our costumes.

We were one of the attendees who had their hotel on the trolly route. When I thought "trolly," I thought of Disneyland's Main Street. Words can be decieving. It was more like a light rail akin to San Jose's VTA or San Francisco's Muni. We ran into our friend Nate at the station. It took about a good half hour to get to the convention center whilst being packed like sardines. It wasn't even rush hour either! We got to the convention center at 10:30AM and were ready to pick up our press badges.

First stop? The dealer's room. I really had no idea what was going on Friday. I only knew there was the Mystery Science Theater 3000 and Avatar: The Last Airbender panels later in the evening. Likewise, I played most of Friday by ear. The dealer's room was massive as usual. Yet, because of Hollywood's massive presence, the hall was a nightmare to navigate.

A good majority of my friends had plans to visit Comic Con. Of such was my college buddy, Nando. What turned out to bea a simple meeting turned into a three hour wild goose chase called, "Where's Nando." The first hour consisted of sitting through the Prince of Persia panel. I was hoping I could just find Nando right there, but they asked me to take a seat. I figured, I could use a rest and meet up with Nando after the panel. I didn't even see him after that!

At one point, I went into the pavillion to meet the cast of Stan Lee's Who Wants to be a Super Hero. I talked to Hygena and Lime Light, after all, they were my favorites from Season 2. Both of them were interested in what I was cosplaying as. I told them about Chane LaForet, the silent knive wielding killer, from Baccano! Hygena seemed very interested in the anime since she loves stories that take place in the 1930s. Lime Light was much interested in my sewing since, like me, she's a seamstress. It was great to have two reality TV stars fangirl over my costume, as simple as it was.

Unfortunately, I did not get any phtoos with Hygena and Lime Light. Had I had cash on me ($10 charge for photo ops), I would have.

I was getting really hungry. It was 1:30PM and I could go for a good, filling meal. I did not have my hotel room key yet, but I figure I'd hit downtown for good eats. Unfortunately, the Italian restaurant I went to last year was still not open. There was a sit down restaurant called Mary Jane's Cafe, but that was crowded as hell.

I decided to hit Mickey and Lou's. Since I was by myself, the wait was not long at all. The restaurant also served as a nice place for Baccano! themed photos. I grabbed a burger, the bread was soggy, but I seriously needed fries. Sitting in the shade also helps. It just felt weird since this was my first time in a while having a meal by myself at a convention. For the most part, I was playing text message tag with Nando.

After lunch, I made way to the dealer's room to finally meet up with Nando. For a three hour task, we probably talked for about ten minutes, at most. Typical for a large convention, eh?
