The final day of CES began with us getting up early and packing everything so we would not have to deal with it later in the day. We had a concise list of what we wanted to hit and prepared ourselves for the final run into the world of future technology. We grabbed a light breakfast and headed off to the convention center. Upon arrival we got in line for the Kinect at the Microsoft booth as Victoria and I had to settle an argument about whether or not it was a good product. It was still early so we got to check the newest toy for the Xbox 360 rather quickly. We played a round of Dance Central and I won, but only because I played on easy while Victoria chose medium. Then I played some Kinect Adventures in order to try out using my hand as a mouse. Everything worked great and it was some of the most fun I had at the event. Video fo Jared playing dancing to Lady Gaga can be seen here.
After that I got distracted by something shiney called Age of Empires Online. A small display was set up to promote the new chapter in the Age of Empires series. This time it will be a free MMO with many customization options and oppertunities to have players communicate. As a fan of the Age of Empires series it is good to know that it will be coming back later this year. The next part of my agenda was to hit the Dolby booth. It was great to see what was going on with enhancements with audio. The big show was the 9.2 setup they had for a theater. It was very impressive. In addition they showed off some of their new technology that will work with laptops and include systems that can better boost the sound and adjusted for changes in the audio level of the media source. Overall, this was a great time for an audio freak like myself. Then we made our way to the Sony booth to look at their offerings. There were several gaming stations set up so that people could play new Playstation 3 entries in 3D. Beyond that there was a large screen that showed a 3D presentation periodiocally. However, the biggest draw was the car from Green Horent. Everyone was lining up to take pictures and there was a console set up to show how the 3D filming works. I liked Sony’s 3D as it was one of the few that did not give me motion sickness. After we had hit everything we wanted to finish up in Central Hall we decided to finish up what was left of the North Hall. We explored the car show portion of the showroom. Although neither of us are gear heads, we still had a fun time looking at some of the great new car designs. After that we ran into one of the most suprising booths at CES, the Trojan booth. Trojan was there showing off their first technological product, a vibrator. When we talked with the rep, we were told that the booth was quite popular over the weekend. While it is a logical turn for Trojan it was still a surprise for us to see their booth at this event. We were just about winding down at CES. Victoria talked to the Cengage folks at their booth. They were able to help her get materials for college and career planning. We were heading out back to the Venetian. On Friday, Victoria was able to get a discount code for "Jersey Boys." It seemed like though the day was coming to an end, the night life was just beginning. We went to dinner at the Cafe at Harrah's and then caught our show at 7:30PM at the Palazzo. Overall, it was a very productive weekend. We were able to be one of the first to have a hands on look at the high tech gears and gadgets. Luckily, we stayed an extra day in Las Vegas to do a little bit more sightseeing before we left back for Los Angeles on Monday night. Pictures are copyright by Scarlet Rhapsody .
