Day three of Anime Expo. Several key events were happening on what is traditionally the biggest day of the con. A three hour Unlimited Bladeworks presentation, masquerade, Love Live concert screening, and Waggakiband. All of these events are a la carte to the normal badge price, thus they cost extra on top of a regular Anime Expo badge. For Saturday, the team cosplayed from Love Live’s Yume no Tobira variations.

Keiji Inafune, Red Ash Premiere by Jared
The secret joint project between Keiji Inafune and Studio 4C was revealed to be Red Ash, a very ambitious project that will be a very anime influenced game. The panel showed off a trailer for the game and talked about the tie-in anime movie. The two kickstarter projects were also introduced (one for the game and one for the anime movie) to help make this project a reality. In addition to that, Keiji Inafune talked about his hopes of making something more than just a stylized game. The project is highly ambitious and it was nice to see the audience acting very enthusiastic about the possibilities of an open world anime style game.

Tabletop Gaming/Kenta Hall by Jared
This year the Anime Expo attendees lost some parking area, but got a gaming room instead. Kentia hall was turned into a gaming area for table top games. There was plenty of room to play Magic, Yu-GI-Oh, or any number of RPGs. In addition to that, the space was used for some signings in order to reduce crowding from the other halls. However, most of the time it seemed like there was a large amount of unused space that could have been put to better use.

Cosplay Wrestling Federation by Eri Kagami
This was my first time checking out Cosplay Wrestling Federation. It has been gaining momentum in the west coast. Considering that masquerade cost extra to attend, we decided to check out another cosplay performance. Half the team was participating, Stan went as Yuuki Terumi from BlazBlue. He played heel and mocked fanboys and thirsty cosplayers for his act. Cosplay Wrestling Federation simply works like this. Contestants show up and proceed to monologue why they deserve to win the title. No actual or mock fighting involved. It very much covers the type of hype you would find in pay per view wrastlin’ The cosplay event played to a full room. Audiences cheered for their favorites and jeered at the villains. This was a really fun crowd. Highlights included Yami Yugi, A Pimp Named Slickback, Mario, and the reigning champion and fan favorite, Little Mac
