And so Traveling Valentine celebrates their third year anniversary in the happiest place on Earth. We left the house later than expected and arrived at Disneyland at around 11AM. Disneyland was still celebrating its 50th anniversary, so we were able to celebrate with them. We began with the Jungle Cruise (1). Tom wondered if they still used guns on that ride rather than finger-banging. We were lucky getting the gold boat. Then we went to the Tarzan Tree House (2). I still wonder how the hell I am associated with Jane (um...thank you animated beauty livejournal community?). I don't see it, do you? We went on Mark Twain (3) because last year, we went on the Columbia. I was telling Tom how people can do weddings on the Mark Twain. I think our families are too Asian for something like that. While waiting for the ship to set sail on the Rivers of America, we saw a duel by the Golden Horseshoe (4). After Mark Twain, we went on Big Thunder Mountain twice (5,6). We ran into Saiyuki cosplayers on that ride. There was virtually no wait! We checked out the new Pirates of the Caribbean (7). I will admit, I was wary of the changes, but I was impressed that it made the ride better, but still kept much of the original elements that I love and adore. Then we went to the Disney Gallery (8) and saw the designs for the Pirates movie. As if we could not get enough of Pirates, there was a Jack Sparrow show (9) outside of French Market. It was great to see Disney incorporate Pirates characters in the park. I was really happy to see Anna Maria! We finally got to Indiana Jones (10). Luckily, we avoided the 45 minute wait. Then we headed towards the Tomorrowland direction. Apparently, there was a performance of Disney characters going on in the Mattherhorn (13). I thought they were reenacting a scene from one of the classic Disney cartoons, but I'm not too sure. Before lunch, I had to get a picture of Tom right by that Katamari Damacy looking thingy (12) in the middle of Tomorrowland. Then we had lunch at one of my favorite places, Red Rocket's Pizza. I don't order the pizza, but rather the tomato basil pasta (which was made of win and awesome). Space Mountain (13) was closed before lunch, but it reopened after lunch and rode it. We went to the Starcade (14) to look at what DDR machines they had there. We found the new DDR SuperNOVA machine. It was time to use our fast passes for Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters (15). I need to work on my aim. Of course, Tom scored higher than me, but both of us managed to get level three. For reasons unknown, our picture taken during the ride was removed. We went to the Tomorrowland side of the Matterhorn (16). By the time we went out, there were already people gathering into Fantasyland for the parade. Tom and I were watching the Fantasy of Dreams (17) parade as we were waiting for It's a Small World (18). Tom and I joked that we should make a convention music video to It's a Small World. I thought it would be funny if Tom could stall the ride so I could steal some of the dolls’ clothes for Eponine. We went to Toontown. Prior to leaving for Disneyland, we saw an anime music video of various anime done to Disney Afternoon themes (Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers, Duck Tales, Tale Spin). The Rescue Ranger song was done to Cowboy Bebop. I asked Tom to pose like Spike in front of the Chip and Dale Tree House (19). Then we went to Donald's Boat (20), which was infested with kidlings. After resolving a problem with our fast passes, we were able to get onto Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin (21). I took Tom to Storybookland (22) in which we got the Alice in Wonderland Boat. I nearly twisted my ankle getting on that ride. We made our way to Fantasyland. We saw the Merlin Sword in the Stone Ceremony (23) while we were on Sleeping Beauty's Carousel (24). Tom and I took each other's pictures being freaked out on that ride. Then we went on Pinocchio (25) where we spotted Naruto people at the Sword in the Stone. Then we went to Snow White (26). Tom and I still wonder how does Snow White get a happy ending from all that? I like Snow White bunnies. Finally, it was time to go on my favorite ride, The Haunted Mansion (27). I told Tom to go ahead so I can get a shot of the Haunted Mansion's 50th Anniversary look. It was tough getting through all those people! I liked the new look to the bride's attic. There were no more taunting pop up ghosts, but the room gave more story to the Haunted Mansion. Then we went on Winnie the Pooh (28). We wondered why Winnie the Pooh was shown at the LGBT Film Festival (Frameline). Our only conclusion is that the author was gay. We finally went on every fanboy's favorite ride, Star Tours (29). I think we were more enthralled by the toys after the ride. Tom got some Star Tours badges. I wondered what George Lucas sees in Ewoks. There was such a quick wait for the Buzz Lightyear Ride (30). We didn't level up, but at least when the ride broke down on us, we were able to get more shots in. We were so addicted to that ride that we had to go in it again (31). Tom leveled up, but I'll work my way up eventually. We decided to go on the Fantasyland side of the Matterhorn (32). There was this band playing at the Tomorrowland stage (33) while we were waiting. The line was set in such a way that it was at the Tomorrowland side, but it split once it got to the loading zone. After that, we went to see the second showing of the Parade of Dreams (34). Alice in Wonderland was in the area (35), so we checked that out. We went back to New Orleans Square (Victoria's favorite "land" in Disneyland) so I can get Eponine a mini parasol. We saw this Jazz Band (36) at the French Market and tested out our swing moves. We gave Pirates (37) another shot because we couldn't get enough of it! Then it was dinner time. Our third year anniversary dinner was at my favorite place at Disneyland, the French Market. We shared this Cajun style fettuccini alfredo and mint julep. Good stuff I say! We looked around New Orleans Square for what merchandise they had. Fantasmic (38) was about to start and we caught some of it. Then we saw the fireworks display (39). Fireworks are a tradition for our anniversary. After all, we confessed our feelings for each other while fireworks were going off, and was followed by our first kiss as a couple. By this time, we were tied for my all time record of attractions. Then to break the record, we dashed off to Space Mountain (40). Everyone after the fireworks ran over to Space Mountain. I was able to spot the hidden Mickey on the ride. Eh...let's just say once the photo came out, Tom and I were blushing. To finally finish off things, we saw the second showing of Fantasmic (41) and yelled out for Token. Token is part of Anime FX and works at Disneyland as a Fantasmic pirate. We used our fast passes for Splash Mountain (42) and dubbed it as the gayest mountain in Disneyland. Congrats Splash Mountain, I shall call you Brokeback Splash Mountain. They will get wet. We did last minute shopping. I picked up a 2006 magnet picture frame. My new house needs more magnets anyway. It was time to get going. Tom had his flight the next day. We were so tired that while Tom was packing, I crashed onto bed! Overall, definitely one of my favorite visits to Disneyland. Pictures are copyright by Victoria Erica.
