Luckily for us, we were able to grab lunch at Mickey D's across the street from 4 Queens. Because of the long wait for the shuttle, we figured we should have an early lunch before departing for the Cashman Center. We got there just in time for the Naruto and Death Note Voice Actor Commentary panel in which the actors (Brad Swaile, Yuri Lowenthal, and Tara Platt) poke fun at their characters in the anime. Death Note fans got a real treat from Brad Swaile (Light). While the staffers were loading up a Death Note episode for Brad to comment on, he pulled out his guitar and started singing "The World," the first Death Note opening.
On Sunday, we cosplayed from Final Fantasy 7. A good number of people recognized our Scarlet and Reno costumes. Jared went around to find what was in the dealer's room. He found a few figures he set his sights (and wallet) on. I found a few cute things in the artist alley - mainly decorative floral hair ornaments and maid related hair ornaments. Unfortunately, the dealer's room was not set up to take card payments. A majority of the booths were cash only, with the exception of Funimation. There were a few booths selling anime related costumes and Asian clothing. Starry Petals sold several Lolita clothes and accessories. Bodyline brand dresses were also sold in the dealers' room. The nice thing about the exhibit hall is that it was spacious for cosplay gatherings. If you did not mind the warehouse type of background, it had enough space for cosplayers and photographers. We were able to catch impromptu Axis Powers Hetalia and One Piece gatherings. Of course, you could find the usual shenanigans going on in the dealers' hall. For most of the day, Jared went to the Hidden Treasures panel and wandered around as Reno. Someone asked him if he has had sex with Cloud. Jared would like the world to know that Reno is a womanizer. Jared wanted to go to the Hellsing Ultimate panel, but it was full of obnoxious fanboys. In the meantime, I spent time with doll-cosplay-Takarazuka-people. We also have an impromptu doll gathering. I did not bring my dolls to Anime Vegas. Neither do I recall if any doll gatherings were posted for Anime Vegas on Den of Angels. With what few dolls there were, it was still nice to have the little resin people represented at Anime Vegas. Asian ball joint dolls aren't all that evil. There were other cosplayers on the first half of Sunday. Not much else was going on. People were anticipating the Group Masquerade contest later in the day. For the most part, we just did a loop around the Cashman to take pictures of cosplayers. Pictures are copyright by Scarlet Rhapsody. If I took your picture, feel free to use it on your site or cosplay gallery. While you're here, do sign the guestbook. This site was brought to you by the font Diablo.
