Likewise, I took a short nap in the hotel room before dinner. Tom and I changed into our Card Captor Sakura costumes. For the record, we had these costumes before we got together. If I remember correctly, I met Tom when he wore his Touya and I kindly reminded him that I would be cosplaying as his mother. Not that he would remember...^.~ So, all incest jokes aside, please! I ditched the wings and wig since I wanted comfort over accuracy. Don't want to have another migraine! We had dinner at the AniMagic buffet. The pasta wasn't all that great, but the chicken and mash potatoes were! Tom and I dined with the HCC girls. It was nice to finally meet them. Once we were finished with dinner, masquerade was just starting. Wayne of Anything Goes Cosplay and USA Musume hosted this year's masquerade. Some masquerade highlights included Gomu Gomu No Cosplay's TeniPuri Family Bunch skit, Rozen Maiden, Sakura Mochi's take on 4Kids covered the Marines of One Piece, Christy and her kids doing Full Metal Alchemist furry transformations, Psycho Mantis from Metal Gear Solid, and others. USA Musume and Ramen and Rice entertained us with a few performances. Ramen and Rice are not only musically talented, but they know how to give back rubs! Of course after masquerade were post-masquerade activities. Tom and I watched anime music videos played by this one guy outside his hotel room. The mundane-ness of watching anime music videos with good company reminded me of the simple things that make AniMagic memorable. Just a handful of people with something in common - love for anime and all things such as - enjoying the same medium together. No drama, no stress, no worries, just fandom joygasm over the silly things. Tom and I went to our friend's Prince of Tennis room party. For the most part, we played the Taiko video game. Afterwards, Tom and I just took a nice romantic walk around the hotel area - yes, a nice romantic walk under the stars. Of course, we chit chatted with friends and got caught up with what's going on. It was about 12:30AM, and we were getting tired, so we turned in by 1AM. Pictures are copyright by Victoria Erica October 2005.
