This is coming from someone who has not done swing in a while. Santa Rosa does not have many social dancing places. Closest place to go is in San Francisco. I wanted to do Cosplay Revue again. Last year was so much fun! *^^* Before the con, Tom kept making jokes about being in cosplay revue singing the first series Lupin theme. Since I was going to make a Fujiko dress, I planned to do some sort of English Lupin III song for cosplay revue. During Dearest V Con, I somehow convinced Tom to join me on stage. After all, that's how we first met last year. ^_^; Costume change number...nevermind...FUJIKO! Before the show, Tom and I did some dance rehearsals. We had to do 16 counts of dance. We managed to figure that out. ^_^; We ran into our Gainix cosplay friends and they showed up a few moves. It's funny to see Shinji swing dancing, that's for sure. We went on stage to do the Lupin III theme (Two Mix version). It was great that the audience loved us! So we went back to the hotel room to change into our Sakura Taisen costumes. Next up would be ORIHIME. Before we went back to the poolside, Tom and I popped the champagne to celebrate our first anniversary of meeting each other. After some spiffy sparkly apple cider, we went back to cosplay revue. The finale was wonderful! *^^* Lots of feathery goodness! The Sakura Taisen photo shoot followed. Tom debuted his Yuuichi costume. After the photoshoot, Tom and I planned to go Battle Royale. Next costume change for me would be KEIKO. We went to the vision room to catch the special edition showing. We got to the part where Chigusa...um...for the sake of not spoiling the movie, just say if any guy came on to me like that, I would have done the same. Seeing the special edition was peachy keen. However, after watching Mitsuko's flashback, I'll never look at dolls the same way again. I was quite traumatized...damn you Kinji for being such a cinematic genius. Afterwards was the photoshoot. We had permission to do this photo shoot at the hotel next door. Some of the BR cosplayers were scared of Jarod carrying the M16. Tom certainly didn't feel like going to the gathering. I felt I should go with it. After all, I did change out of Orihime just to do this and I knew how much time and effort Jarod put into this. The gathering went okay. Afterwards, we went back to poolside to chill out. Lots of drunken madness going around. I got to talk to Mel for a bit. (why is it I could never recognize you in costume?!) Nando's afro was going around. The sober ones decided to play rock paper scissors. |
