It's that time of year again! No, not Anime Los Angeles, but the Virus Season! Right before Anime Los Angeles, I was hit with the flu. I still managed to survive for Friday. Prior to the con, our friend Deb slept over my place. The three of us watched "My Little Transformers" and that made our brains hurt. We woke up bright and early (much to Tom's dismay) for an early check in to the Burbank Marriott.

Getting through registration was painless, although crowded. We ran into stormy weather. I can't blame Anime Los Angeles for being crowded on Friday morning. Friday was Harry Potter day. I had Deb dress up in my book style Ravenclaw schoolgirl outfit. I was waiting on my friend Kat to deliver my Ravenclaw movie style outfit. Deb and I had our hair styled in pigtails so we could look like Ravenclaw sisters. Of course, Tom was in his usual Slytherin self complete with pigtail pulling tendencies.

One aspect of Anime Los Angeles were the custom benches and array of bean bags. My favorite custom ass comfort furnishing was Vic's Chair. While Anime Los Angeles does not give out press badges, at least they had a chair in my name! It was great until another guy who called himself Vic took my spot.

this looks like fun...a bench! Right at home!

There were hardly any "Badge Nazis" roaming around the convention premises. Yet, if Tom ran into that problem again, he found an appropriate badge holder.

The Dealers Room was in simillar size to PMX - a good balance of things - mostly discounted manga. It wasn't bad for a small con though some dealers we normally visit reduced their stock. There were also selling Gothic Lolita dresses at affordable prices as well.

We tried out the con suite, the place that makes Anime Los Angeles unique. This time, it was called The Blue Rose Cafe. It wasn't held at an actual con suite, but tables and chairs were set up to resemble a small restaurant. Attendees can pick and choose sodas, tea, PBJs, and other assorted snacks - at no cost! The place was often crowded. That's how Tom and I spent our lunches.

2PM was drawing close to the Harry Potter gathering. There was still no sign of Kat. My illness started to kick in again. Luckily, she arrived (almost) on time. Though we missed the Harry Potter gathering, there were a few remaining cosplayers who still would have loved to do photo sets. Yet, my illness kicked in, and so did the rain.
