This time, the freeway did not have any traffic on the way up. Tom and I packed hot dogs for lunch. We dressed up as Karen and Aoki. Luckily, we arrived at the Airtel Hotel early so we can catch the TeniMyUSA show and the Who's Line is it Anime? The TeniMyUSA was simply a half hour revue of selections from the Prince of Tennis musicals. It went very nicely. Good job ladies! Afterwards was Who's Line is it Anime? We ran into the head honcho running the show yesterday for ideas and gave him our input. It was basically a mix of World's Worst and Scenes from a Box. After half an hour, we left. It would have been much better had they gone on to other theatre games. We were also trying to get Andy to do something as he was sitting on that chair acting like a British royal gaurd making no emotion when being poked fun at.

For the most part, we just relaxed and chit chatted in the cosplayer gathering area. Most of the cosplayers were gathering around the hotel garden. I admit, it was a nice place for photo oppurtunities. There was a small pond and tons of flowers. It reminded me of AniMagic's Valencia location, only without the pollen. Of course, we had to clear out of the gathering area by a certain time. It sounded like there was a wedding reception happening.

For the most part, it was wandering around and finding people and catching up on life. Thank the gods for the con suite because salsa chips kept me alive before the big Lunar New Year party later that evening. There was the cosplay.com gathering at the front of the hotel. Tom and I were only at the first one. Then we got in line for masquerade. We ran into Satoru in line. To kill time before the show, we played Indian poker. It was a very amusing and time killing device before the big show. Later, Chris joined us for poker. In addition, he also provided us entertainment for the early 90s. MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice, anyone? Also, Jubei gave us Hall Cosplay Awards for our Aoki and Karen. Her reasons were accuracy and bringing back red pumps back into cosplay.

The masquerade show started off. We were treated with perhaps one of the better masquerade MC's I've been entertained by, Tadao "Mr. Shake Hands Man" Tomomatsu. Some highlights of the masquerade included Harry Potter Slytherin drama (Brilliant Moon Cosplay), Gundam Seed goes Saturday Night Live (Sana and Friends), Fruits Basket characters celebrating Lunar New Year, A "Mew" Kind of Pikachu (Chibiko), Elizabeth Swan goes ninja (Faire Goddess and Kokuu), and more.

While waiting for the judges to bring back the results, we were entertained by some delightful comedy of the infinitely excellent kind. For the most part, we just chilled with Brilliant Moon friends. When the comedy was over, anime music videos took over. Even though judging took a while, it was worth it to hear a diverse amount of recognition. Congrats to the winners!

After the masquerade was the real party! Time to ring in the new year. Hey, it's year of the dog after all. The party was held at our friend's suite. Many of our friends showed up to party. Lots of Chinese food to choose from! It was a great time. I wished we could have stayed much longer, but Tom and I had to catch our morning flight. Thank you to Karisu and friends for the party!

I think from here, I can safely say, Happy New Year!
