And so, Anime Los Angeles came to an end. Tom and I took our separate flights back to the Bay Area. I had to carry three pieces of luggage from the BART bus to the BART train to the MUNI bus and walk them all back to the apartment. Believe me, I was extremely exhausted after carrying all that weight. Anime Los Angeles was very much worth it. Okay, so both Tom and I traveled down to Los Angeles for free (thanks to frequent flyer miles). Since we may not do AniMagic this year, it was really nice seeing our Southern California friends over there.

From day one, Karisu assured us that the staffers knew what they were doing. We believe her. The convention was organized very well. I liked the ribbons for the badges. I don't normally wear my badge on myself (most of the time, I'm in costume), but I do have my badge on my purse. Through the weekend I collected, My First Time, Hall Cosplay Award, and Unofficial Photographer. I don't think I have attended a West Coast convention that had a cosplay repair station and a con suite. For those of who don't know, the con suite had soda, water, snacks, and healthy appetizers for convention attendees. It really helps having bottles of water around. I really like how this convention assures that you are getting your money's worth.

Of course, most local eateries are a drive away. Luckily, Tom and I had Death on Wheels™ to take us to off site locations. The Japanese restaurant was okay. I don't know of any other places in the area. Tom and I commuted to the convention. Van Nuys is a simple half hour drive from my SoCal residence as well as not being too far from Los Angeles' major airports. The hotel location was very nice. Though it was small, the cosplay gathering area was a nice place for photo ops.

Thank you to everyone who made this convention memorable. Thanks to Anime Los Angeles staff and personnel for making this convention possible for another round. This was definitely better than Mystery Beach House weekend. Thanks to Tom for the driving back and forth and the cosplaying and lots of other things. Thanks to Karisu for the food. Without you, we would be starving. Oh, and more thanks to Karisu because apparently, when she came home from Los Angeles, something was waiting for me in the kitchen...
