We made it just in time for the doll panel... well, not quite. We did not have time to stop by the room to pick up the girls. We got to the tail end of the panel as people were introducing their dolls. It saddened us that we weren't able to introduce Cosette (MSD Mika) and Eponine (Kid Delf Nara). Luckily, there was another gathering afterwards at the Anime Central parlor. We got our resin kids ready for some good dolly times. And afterwards, we took advantage of the Hyatt location and took some Nadeshiko and Touya pictures. I decided to rest up for a little bit while were in our hotel room. My stomach was acting up. I took another nap until I felt better, until I realized that I had originally schedule a photoshoot with Jesse. Crap! We were also running late for the ballroom dance. We went as Faye Valentine and Spike from Cowboy Bebop. I was very happy to do the opera dress variation of Faye. The ballroom dance was located right across the street at the Embassy Suites. The Masquerade Ball is a charity event. $10 for pre-registration and $20 at the door. We did not mind supporting an event with a great cause. It is always nice for a convention to support a worthy cause. We entered the ballroom dance to find that the Spoony Bards were playing this year again. I must say, their music is starting to grow on me. It was a very nice atmosphere. It was nice to see convention goers dressed to the nines. The Spoony Bards played music from anime and video games. Some highlights included "Call Me" from Cowboy Bebop, "Guredo Valley" from Zelda, the American theme from Pokemon, "Basket Case" by Green Day, "Konya wa Hurricane" from Bubblegum Crisis, "Carry On" from the English version of Sailor Moon, etc. It was nice mix of music. I'm very happy to see young people pick up instruments! Hey Spoony Bards, you think you can play a little bit of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons for next year's ballroom dance? Traveling Valentine would very much appreciate it! Otherwise, it was another pleasant evening at the Anime Central Masquerade Charity Ball. Sadly, it ended at 11PM. We really danced the night away! We stuck around the Hyatt lobby for the rest of the evening. We met a fellow convention journalist, Soy Sauce who really admired our dancing skills! Pictures are copyright byTraveling Valentine.
