AX MMIV: Full Of Fanboys, And All Out Of Air Freshener

THE CON: Anime Expo 2004

THE ATTENDEES: The most whacked-out bunch of fanboys ever to set foot in public. And maybe a couple of cosplayers.

THE MISSION: To relax and avoid all drama, stress, and other garbage that can ruin a convention experience or holiday.

Not wanting to spend the 4th of July weekend celebrating the 4th of July at home, I decided to hit southern California for the third time and maybe hit AX if it were possible.

The first AX had me seeking out various places to crash since I forgot to arrange a hotel room.

The second AX proved to be very memorable when Victoria and I started officially dating.

This AX (the third) had its troubles. Masquerade issues. Costume malfunctions. Financial difficulty. Transport problems. Cosplayer tensions. And all of that was before AX. What would AX hold for me this year?

Pre-AXTikka To Ride: The AX trip that did not officially happen.

Friday Part IOuroboros: Survival of the patient ones.

Friday Part IICassandra: The shortest AMV contest commentary ever.

Saturday Part IJustice: Thieves and cosplayers unite.

Saturday Part IIBlue: I got your "AX Idle" right here.

Sunday Part IBack In The Red: Remembering last year.

Sunday Part IIOnly The Good...: Masquerade? What Masquerade?

Monday at DisneylandRimmerworld: A different kind of cartoon convention.

A little family businessThe Last Day: I'm not done here yet.

The con is over.Back To Reality: Now I'm done.
