Tom and I left for "Gay Con" in the late morning. Our cosplay choices for Saturday were Hinamori Momo (Bleach) and a World War II airforce guy (Medal of Honor). Okay, that was more of an excuse for Tom to carry around a Chicago typewriter, but since we were entering Forbidden Territory, you never know what you can run into. Yaoi Con was held in the same location as Tales of Anime 2007, the San Mateo Marriot. It's the same old mystery mansion maze as it was then. This time, it was full to it's capacity.

We quickly ran into our friends: Tog, Astro, and Diana. We found the life of this party once we stepped into the bad side.

Tom and I registered just to get a feel for what Yaoi Con was all about. Of course, it was a given that it's all about guy on guy action that the chicks dig. Honestly, I prefer guys that go after gals. Yeah, I'm that traditional. As for Tom, give him a schoolgirl in pigtails and we'll call it a day.

We fell in line to grab out tickets for the main events. There were three going on Saturday - AMVs, Masquerade, and Bishounen Auction. It was rather chaotic. I don't think I have been to a con since Anime Expo 2003 where events had to be ticketed. Of course, Yaoi Con offered limited press passes meaning that we could not get priority seating for any of the main events. After getting our tickets, we ran into our friend Claudine. We went to lunch at the hotel restaurant, California Grill. While the price for a burger and fries is about $13, it was still worth it for a relaxing sit down meal.

Thanks to Claudine for the Hinamori Momo hair accessory.

We went around the dealer's room to see what was in store. Nothing much to see. Junky Spot was present, yet I really didn't feel like spending money. Of course, there were non-yaoi related items available, but everyone seemed to be crowding all the table space to grab their hands on the many, many doujins and boys love manga available.
