Tom and I did one last hit in the dealer's room to score whatever we could get prior to viewing masquerade. If it's one major staple that Comic Con shares with an anime con, it's the parade of creativity and theatrics. Unfortunately, Comic Con does not have any press seating for masquerade. There was the photo ops area, but how about those of us who want to video tape masquerade and get an awesome vantage point?

Likewise, after finding out from a few staffers (Comic Con related as Convention Center related) that they had no clue about press seating, we lined up instead. Tom and I also ran into Bay Area personality, Mr. Lobo of Cinema Insomnia. It was great that he recognized us.

The masquerade was hosted by Phil Foglio and Kaja Foglio. Tom and I saw them before at World Con Los Angeles and Wonder Con. For once, it was refreshing to see a masquerade with a variety of media - everything that encompassed many of our fandoms - not necessarily from the land of the rising sun as we're used to at anime venues.

While masquerade was a great show, it ended late in the evening. Tom and I hardly had a bite to eat. Nothing in downtown SD was open. No Denny's. No 24 hour grocery marts. Yet, we learned from the hotel desk that there was a pizza delivery service running 24 hours. We decided on that despite the 45 minute wait. At 2AM we had our very late, early breakfast. Of course, we had to be sure all minors were fed before bedtime.
