First and foremost, many thanks to Dan and Sue for inviting Tom and I to help out with Sac Anime programming. We were delighted to run the "Doll's Tea Party" event. Despite a few mishaps, but we are happy the event ran well. Thank you again. Many thanks to our "Doll's Tea Party" crew - Claudine, Katie, Diana, and Astro. Without your help, the doll event would not have been what it was. I hope to have you guys again on our crew should we are ever invited to do this again be it Sac Anime or any other con!

Sac Anime July was muchly different from the past Sac Anime we attended earlier in the year. Tom and I are happy that Sac Anime is a growing con, but there are simple issues that could use major tweaking. There really was not much to do on Saturday evening. Most conventions we attend - big or small - have a variety of things to choose from. We only had 1) Hot Yaoi Nights and 2) a Rave. Not everyone is into one or the other (or both!). We would love it if masquerade could occur again on Saturday.

Certainly, Sac Anime can have fun events happening on Sunday as well. Other cons like Fanime, Anime Los Angeles, and Anime Overdose have events that run on Sunday that still keep the conventioneers going. It varies from concerts, interactive events, Iron Cosplay, tea parties, etc. If masquerade should be held on a Sunday next year, it would be preferred to keep it in the early afternoon rather than late afternoon considering a majority of us drive from the Bay Area and wish to avoid traffic at certain times.

I'm unsure about this location. It felt very tight. The outside artist alley in the hallway could have utilized the other side of the hotel space. There were tables set by Panel Rooms 1 and 2. Tom and I wondered what they were used for. It was turning into a frenzy in that space when Tom and I wanted to talk to Chaz of Anime Los Angeles or have our pictures done by Katie Bair.

Sac Anime does have potential to be a better con. I trust Sue to liven up the programming and likewise, listen to the attendees.

I enjoy a con for what it is - an excuse to see my awesome friends. Tom summed it best when Sac Anime July felt like going back to college. It's like our hotels were our dorms, we lived off ramen (not all of us, thank goodness), midnight runs, and making the best out of a sticky situation. Not to mention, being there for your friends when they need you the most. It did feel like a college reunion because a majority of the people we wanted to see are our friends from our college days (even though it's been almost a year since we've graduated from San Francisco State!).

Most of all, thanks to Tom for making this weekend possible for me. I love you!
