Otakon Vegas 2017 took place on January 13-15, 2017 at the Planet Hollywood resort and casino on the famed Las Vegas strip. In its fourth year, Otakon Vegas brought in dj’s, voice actors, veteran directors, and even sumo wrestlers for their west coast event. 2017 is a big year for Otakorp, the company that runs both the Vegas and DC events. However, though having a brand name noticeable to anime convention veterans, Otakon Vegas is small and low key compared to their east coast counterpart. Guests this year included Kitadani (JAM Project), Byamba and Yama (sumo wrestlers), Yasuhiro Imagawa (Zeta Gundam, Giant Robo), Erica Mendez, Lauren Landa, and many more.
