Otakon 2014 took place on August 8 - 10, 2013 at the Baltimore Convention Center in downtown Baltimore, MD. This year, Otakon had a space theme for their show. "Mission 2014" was themed all over programming. Guests for this year's Otakon included Dante Basco, John Stocker, Erica Mendez, Linda Ballantyne, Katie Griffin, Stephanie Sheh, Robbie Daymond, and so much more. Musc guests included Altimra and Yoshiki from X Japan. Otakon always has a decent A-lister guest list. Drawing over 30,000 fans around the country, Otakon is a very prominent anime convention in the states.
This is Scarlet Rhapsody's second outing to Otakon. Our editor in chief was also celebrating their 30th birthday on August 8 (aka World Cat Day). This was a great way to ring in celebration. The city of Baltimore was a happening spot during the weekend: restaurant week, Orioles celebrating their 60th, and one of the largest anime cons in the country happening in one weekend.
