Otakon 2013 took place on August 9 - 11, 2013 at the Baltimore Convention Center in downtown Baltimore, MD, just steps away from historic Inner Harbor. Otakon was celebrating their 20th year as a convention. It was a weekend full of celebrations. Attendees recieved souvenir balloons. We even had a variety of guests this year - several American voice actors, Japanese anime producers, and a handful of A-list musical guests. Perhaps what shocked the Western otaku world was the announcement of Yoko Kanno, TM Revolution, and Home Made Kazoku as headliners. These talented musicians appease to a wide variety of anime fans. So much so that people from the west coast were willing to give Otakon a shot.

After waiting ten years to attend Otakon, this was definately the year to be there. Saw the opportunity, we suppose. Not only Otakon was celebrating their birthday, but the editor-in-chief was celebrating a prime number too. We survived the three day humid weekend in downtown Baltimore and were pleased with the results.
