MikomiCon Con took place on September 19 - 21, 2008. The convention took place at the California State University Northridge student center. In its third year, MikomiCon remains relatively small but intimate. Do not let the size fool you - MikomiCon was able to procure great guests of honor such as Johnny Young Bosch, Rob Paulsen, Kyle Hebert, Tony Oliver, Stephanie Yanez, and several other local bands. For $40 at the door, you get what you pay for. We had a full auditorium for masquerade and plenty of space for socializing and photo shoots.

I've heard of MikomiCon and really did not know what to make of it. It does attract many new anime fans (or "n00bs" if you will). Yet, I was impressed by this small convention. In this day and age, the appeal and charm of California small cons are dead. MikomiCon is perhaps the last great quaint otaku event in the Los Angeles area.
