The second day of the convention began a bit later than expected. Despite some issues with traffic and wig stress we still got to the convention by noon. Victoria and I went as Naru and Keitaro from Love Hina. It was our first time dressed as this odd anime couple at the same time. Upon our arrival we made our way around toward the panel room hallways.

We were a little late to the Robotech panel due to the long path to the panel room. However, we still learned many new things at the panel. The Robotech movie is still in the works and with it may come new animation and new video games. It will be exciting to see how it all turns out. After all, Robotech was an important part of many people’s childhoods.

After the Robotech panel we had some time to wait until the next panel of interest. Therefore we went into the panel room for the upcoming Marvel animation panel and got ourselves organized. When the time came the panel began and we were treated to a new episode of the new Avangers cartoon and the first episode of the Iron Man anime. Speaker Jeph Loeb was there talking about upcoming plans including an Ultimate Spiderman cartoon, future anime projects such as Wolverine, X-Men and Blade, and hinted that there is even more great Marvel action coming soon.

It did not look like there were any more panels we wanted to hit for several hours so we decided to take a second tour of the dealer hall before the events later that day. As we had different plans Victoria and I split up to cover more ground. I was looking forward to getting the autograph of an actor who played one of my favorite movie characters. However, he was charging far too much and I decided to just look at discount hardcover and trade paperback comics.

I was lucky enough to find a Punisher hard cover and a Christmas gift for a friend at a discount shop. I found a few other nice items (Jonah Hex TPB and Batman: No Man’s Land), but I decided to take a pass on them in hopes of finding something else. Searching for comics can be very time consuming and before I knew it, I had to go and meet up with Victoria at the Cosplay in America booth.

Victoria explored other parts of Long Beach Comic Con such as the mini car show. More photos of the car show can be seen in the gallery section of the report. Fans showed off their various custom designs of their rides. Our personal favorite was the Star Wars themed car complete with the R2 Unit.

Victoria also went across the street to Borders. Members of Long Beach Comic Con get 10% off at Borders if you show your badge at the cashier. Victoria prefers Japanese manga over American comics, so she picked up her favorite high school drama, His and Her Circumstances.

Victoria also met up with Stan in the dealer's hall. Both of them decided to watch the NWA match that was going on.

After meeting up, Victoria and I took a few quick pictures before heading to the aroma therapy booth to pick up some nice scents from Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab. These scents were exclusive to the show. We headed out of the dealer hall in search of a restroom and a place to sit down. During this brief downtime I was able to assist a photographer take pictures of a slave Leia cosplayer. It was fun assisting a photographer, but ironically upon meeting up with Victoria I learned that our camera had run out of power.

While still deciding what to do for the remainder of the day we ran into Stan cosplaying as Tony Stark from Iron Man the anime. We talked about our different experiences and had a nice chat to end the day. We chose to head out and go to a friend’s Halloween party rather than stay at the convention. Sometimes you have to make difficult choices between covering an event and prior obligations. However, we wished we could have stuck around for the Hero Initiative party.
