Long Beach Comic Con took place on October 2 to October 4, 2009 in Long Beach, CA at a very familliar venue to Anime Expo veterans, the Long Beach Convention Center. Granted that Long Beach Comic Con was smaller, had fewer attendees, and had a different breed of fans, it was not as chaotic as the Anime Expo Long Beach years (2001, 2002, and 2007). Stan informed the Scarlet Rhapsody team about Long Beach Comic Con the month before. I knew about Anaheim Comic Con coming up in Spring 2010, but the first annual Long Beach Comic Con was news to me. Long Beach Comic Con, though a fraction of size of Comic Con International, had prominent guests of honor from the comic and entertainment industry. Stan "The Man" Lee, creator of many Marvel favorites, goes without saying. Jim Lee, Jeph Loeb, and many more, are just a few of the many comic book artists that were available for a sketch or autograph. Unlike Comic Con International, you can truly breathe and not feel sardined in. The location was lovely, but unfortunately, not many costumers came by to take advantage of the scenic shoreline. Scarlet Rhapsody enjoyed their time at Long Beach Comic Con and would be thrilled to come back in 2010. Long Beach Comic Con 2009 TravelCast:
