I do admit that the X gathering was much bigger last year. We nearly had a full cast. Yet, this year was all right. Hitori had the idea of doing a X volume 18 group. (Warning, these pictures may contain spoilers. You have been warned.) The title image is the X volume 18 group. Thanks a bunch to Hitori for fixing the jacket on time. *hug* Yes, we got two Karens (Stephi and myself), an Aoki (that's Tom, not Lionel), a Fuuma, and a Nataku (Hitori). It wasn't just volume 18 X, but some of the regular characters like Arashi, Kamui 'n Fuuma. The gathering lasted for a while since Masako's friend had plenty ideas for poses (including posing on buildings).

After the X gathering, Tom and I got into Hellsing mode. This was another new costume I debuted at Fanime - Integral Wingates Hellsing. Tom dressed up as young Walter from the Hellsing manga. Adam dressed up as Father Alexander Anderson (not that bad for a first time cosplayer). We posed with other Hellsing cosplayers. Good to see CJ and Juan also in Hellsing goodness. Tom received compliments for his Walter garrote wire. ^_^

It was nearing time for masquerade. Sora and Will had to get ready for the stage. Tom and I had nothing else better to do. Adam invited us along to watch Evangelion Redeath. Yay! Another parody dub! Luckily for us, being early at the civic center got us good seats. Redeath was truly fun to watch. Yet, it's another parody dub that you all must see! ^^ (Is this different from the bad Scottish dubbing one?)

On with the show! Will started it off with some CCS stand up goodness. Once again, mother is proud of her daughter. ^.~ Sora did her Pirotess thing. (wish I could have got a picture or two before she changed out, but the boots were killing her) There were a few good skits up there. I liked Goddess Academy's Sera Myu skit (so what, I have a special place for BSSM in my heart!), traumatized by the Gloomy the Bear skit (never will look at bears the same way again), Full Metal Fumoffu shooting out the competition (literally), Anybody from Anybody's ballet routine, the opera singer chick (yes, I happen to like opera...fanboys in the back were quite rude about it) and there were other good ones too. Only let down was the fact that "Chair" was still alive and the people behind us made some uncalled for comments to the cosplayers on stage. Idiots. <.<

  Tom and his white twin

Maiyu had a concert during halftime. I thought she sang marvelously. I do give her credit since it was a tough crowd. Geez, the people behind Tom and I started to complain that they only wanted to see amvs. Then they finally showed the amvs. The judges choice amvs were pretty blah. (The BJ one was pretty spiffy though) The viewer's choice ones were even more interesting. Favorites included Cowboy Swing (Tom and I got up and danced for that one, but it was tough turning around since the wig was uber long), Grand Theft Bebop, and AMV Hell.

After the masquerade, Will and Sora went to sleep in the room. Tom and I changed to artbook Karen and Aoki to kill some time for the rest of the night. Nothing really was going on the convention center. We chilled with Soujirou for a while. We checked out the dance, same old anime remixes, nothing really was going on the dance floor. Tom and I tangoed our way out. We caught a showing of a MST3K version of the X movie. Very funny. Can't wait to see the X parody dub!
