Anime Expo 2013 took place on July 4-7, 2013 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in downtown Los Angeles. Anime Expo has always been a love / hate con with the locals. No one was quite sure where Anime Expo 2013 was heading. Heated conversations on the Internet and at ramen cafes in Little Tokyo had people doubting this year's Anime Expo. However, in the end, we all end up saying, "Hey! That wasn't bad!" This year, headlining guests included Porno Graffitti, Aya Ikeda, Alodia, Megumi Han, George Wada, and a seiyuu legend, Kazuhiko Inoue. There were over 20 guests that were involved in the anime industry for the 22nd Anime Expo. With the heatwave gone, the Los Angeles Convention Center opened their doors to over 61,000 anime fans on the fourth of July weekend.

The theme to Anime Expo is based on Tupac Shakur's greatest hits, because ain't no party like a west coast party and a west coast party don't stop. The "Anime Expo: Strictly 4 My O.T.A.K.U.Z." is a collaborative report by Scarlet Rhapsody editors Jared, Scarlet, and Kyra.
