LiSA Makes Her American Debut by Kyra

Oribe Risa, or mostly known as her stage name LiSA, made her American debut here at Anime Expo 2012. Originally, LiSA was the singer of an indie band called Chucky, but broke up in 2008. She then created a band called Love is Same All, which is where she derived her stage name from. LiSA made her major debut in the anime Angel Beats! She released three singles over the course of this anime. Angel Beats!  would later lead to her appearance in the 2010 Animelo Summer Live on August 28. A year later, LiSA made her solo debut with her first mini album called Letters to U by Aniplex. This was the first album in which she wrote all the lyrics by herself. LiSA released her next solo single called “Oath Sign,” which is featured as the opening for the anime called Fate/zero, released in 2011. On February 22, 2012, she released her first solo debut album called Lover"s"mile.  And now, she is here at Anime Expo 2012, spreading her love to her American fans!

During the concert, LiSA made sure that she kept the energy up around the event hall. Everyone literally fed off her energy on the stage. When she jumped, the crowd jumped. When she waved, the crowd waved. It was a great concert to be at. LiSA sang many of her popular songs. Some ranged from her own album, like “Believe In Myself”; others came from the anime Angel Beats!, like the opening “My Soul, Your Beats,” and “Ichiban no Takaramono (Yui final ver.).” Though this was her first live in the U.S., she was impressed by how many people actually came. She made sure to practice many times before the live to keep the songs in perfect condition. To see this much dedication in oneself is an experience in which you don't want to forget. Before the last song, she allowed herself to speak Japanese because she couldn't express her feelings for the crowd in her limited English. But from what I understood, she said that, “Even though this was my first time performing in America, I'm glad that I was able to see the smiles of all my fans here at Anime Expo.” And though she was unable to perform an encore for her rising fans, she promised that she would come back to America to perform another live for us. So look out for LiSA in the future, you don't want to miss out on this sort of experience of adrenaline and energy.
